Okay, here I have a 9-volt battery. I'm going to call it the black battery

I'm going to connect the positive terminal to the positive lead of the circuit, and I'm going

to connect the negative terminal of the battery to the negative lead of the circuit

Here you can see the white LED is lit, but it's not lit up as bright as I'd like it to be

Again, if I switch the leads around, you can see the red LED

LED barely light up. I'm thinking that the battery is probably low. It's an old battery

Here is another 9-volt battery. I'm going to call it the blue battery. Again, I'm going to connect the leads to this 9-bolt battery

And we'll see the white LED much brighter now. This is a newer 9-volt battery. And now I'm going to switch the leads around

And you can see the red LED is much brighter here for the blue battery

Okay, what I'm going to do here is test each of the 9-volt batteries

First, I'll test the black battery. This is the one that is the older of the two batteries

and I suspect that it's low in voltage. As you can see here, it's reading just over 4 volts

which is very low for this 9-volt battery. Next, I'll test the blue 9 volt battery

It is a newer battery, but it has been used quite a bit and several different tests I've done in the past

You can see that it reads almost 9 volts. It's not ideal, but it is higher in voltage than the black battery

So this may be a reason why you have dim LEDs in your circuit

Just test out a new battery and see. if that helps
