the world of consumer gadgets and
0:02
digital technology can sometimes be
0:04
confusing you have seen certain products
0:07
with Google TV labeled on them and you
0:10
have seen others with Android TV labeled
0:13
on them you know that Google is the
0:16
developer behind with products but you
0:19
have always wondered what the
0:20
differences are let's find out what's
0:24
difference between Google TV and Android
0:26
TV
0:27
[Music]
0:35
if you're familiar with Android
0:37
smartphones think of how Google has
0:40
Android operating system available for
0:42
all and everyone to use in their devices
0:46
and then Google has Google pixel
0:49
phones but when you look at the user
0:52
interface it looks different from what
0:55
you see on other Android smartphones but
1:00
same Android they run the same apps they
1:03
have access to the same Services now
1:06
that's the kind of difference that
1:08
exists between Google TV and Android TV
1:12
the differences between Google TV and
1:14
Android TV is that Google has taken
1:17
Android TV slapped a graphical user
1:21
interface on it and then applied certain
1:25
services to make it easier to find the
1:28
content that you want think of Android
1:30
TV like regular Android you can log in
1:33
install apps watch your movies your TV
1:37
shows blah blah blah it all works now
1:41
Google TV is all of that but the
1:44
graphical user interface that interface
1:47
that you see that you interact with is
1:49
different it is designed to recommend
1:52
the content that you are looking for to
1:55
you it picks content from all the apps
1:58
you're signed into Netflix Amazon and it
2:03
looks at your us usage pattern and tries
2:06
to recommend what it believes will
2:09
interest you the most to you on the
2:11
screen when you sign in at the call
2:15
there is no difference between the two
2:17
they both run the same underlying
2:21
software the differences are tweaks that
2:25
Google has applied to how it looks and
2:28
how it behaves so whichever of the two
2:32
you buy whether you buy an Android TV
2:35
product or a Google TV product you will
2:37
get access to streaming services like
2:39
Netflix Amazon Prime and all of the
2:43
others you will be able to use
2:47
YouTube install apps from Google's store
2:51
you will be able to do pretty much the
2:54
same things on both platforms but they
2:58
look different and and they work a
3:01
little bit different because of the
3:03
extra modifications that Google has made
3:06
into Google TV so buy an Android TV
3:10
stick buy chomecast with Google or
3:13
Google TV streamer buy an android setup
3:16
Android TV setup box you're in good
3:18
hands you are not going to miss anything
3:21
on both but one will try to
3:24
recommend shows and apps and services to
3:27
you that the other won't the other just
3:30
sits there you go into Netflix search
3:32
for what you want you go into Prime
3:34
video you go into show Marx search for
3:37
what you want watch it move on while
3:41
Google TV first and foremost tries to
3:44
recommend things to you oh this is
3:46
latest this is new uh just for you you
3:50
know based on the fact that you watched
3:52
this you will be interested in this
3:53
other movies now that's Google TV
3:56
there's a little bit of AI at work
3:59
trying to match your tastes and patterns
4:02
while Android TV just gives you the apps
4:05
do whatever you want with them great
4:07
customization you know how Android is
4:10
you can play around with it you love to
4:12
thinker Android TV will appeal to you a
4:15
lot the customization options are
4:17
amazing Google TV doesn't give that much
4:19
of
4:21
customization but it definitely tries to
4:24
be your friend and to make sure that you
4:27
get the content that interests you the
4:30
most I hope that helped I'll see you
4:33
