Hello, my name is Al Watkins and I'm a
0:04
minister from Wilmington, North
0:06
Carolina. And I would like to share a
0:08
quick word of encouragement with you
0:10
from God's word. John 3:17
0:14
says this, "For God sent not his son
0:17
into the world to condemn the world, but
0:20
that the world through him might be
0:23
saved."
0:25
Just about everybody's heard John 3:16,
0:28
but very few people really have dwelt
0:30
upon John 3:17, the very next statement.
0:34
And it says this, "Jesus didn't come to
0:37
point fingers at what you did wrong. He
0:40
didn't come to push you away. He did
0:43
come, however, to save you." And that
0:47
means that you can have hope. You can
0:49
have life because you have forgiveness
0:52
from God himself. Many people know John
0:56
3:16, but John 3:17 completes the
1:00
complete thought of the gospel in a
1:02
nutshell. The truth is we're already
1:05
under condemnation for the sinfulness of
1:07
the life in which we were born. Because
1:10
sin is the imprisonment that we are
1:15
naturally in through the natural man.
1:17
But when we spiritually fully receive
1:20
Jesus as our savior and a gift from God
1:24
through mercy and grace, we recognize
1:27
that salvation is not about what we can
1:30
do for God to make it right. It's what
1:33
God has already done for us that made it
1:36
right. If you ever feel or have felt
1:40
that you're unworthy and gone too far to
1:43
be redemptive unto God's heaven, you
1:46
have accepted the lie from the devil.
1:49
Remember this verse. God sent not his
1:52
son into the world to condemn the world,
1:55
but that the world through him might be
1:57
saved. God has already done what he
2:00
needed to do through Jesus Christ on the
2:02
cross, through the grave, and the
2:04
resurrection.
2:06
So today you can walk in the truth and
2:09
know that you don't have to carry the
2:11
guilt of sin because Christ has already
2:14
forgiven you. Instead, receive his
2:17
mercy, receive his gift of love and
2:21
share this hope with others around you.
2:25
Let us pray. Father, thank you for
2:27
sending your son not to condemn us but
2:31
to save us. Help us to trust fully in
2:34
him and to live in the freedom of your
2:37
grace. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
2:42
Thank you for tuning in.
