How Long Can Eggs Really Last?

Along with milk and bread, eggs are one of those classic food staples. They're an ingredient in tons of recipes and can be a meal all by themselves. They're also, like milk and bread, quite perishable. But it may be surprising how long they can last when stored properly. The Egg Safety Center says they can be eaten well past when they were packed. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says much the same.
