Melbourne Cup 2022 - My Tips to Win and Lose

I look at the horse racing field of the Melbourne Cup using a few simple systems from a variety of sources to find the winner. I also highlight a bunch of horses that are worth laying as they are likely not to be in the top 10 horses. The Melbourne Cup is a great race to have a fun bet but there is always so much contention on which horse will win that there is sometimes really good value in there if you take a look. This year there are a few which have been overbet and the prices are just too short to be considered, but there are some other horses with good chances at some reasonable prices. My tip for this year is that there is more value in laying the horses than backing them as a subset of horses are really no chance of winning or running top 10.
