Sequels That Bombed Without Their Original Cast Members

Every once in awhile a movie sequel is better than the original. We're looking at you: Godfather, Basket Case, and The Rescuers (you know, the one about the cartoon mice?). In some cases, however, the sequel totally bombs, both in terms of quality and box office performance. We're going to take at this latter camp of sequel films today, with the added wrinkle that in every case, new actors were chosen for the old roles. Even when every character and plot line was preserved, audiences simply didn't care for this crop of sequels. We'll try to understand why. These are sequels without original cast members that bombed.
