In this video I am using embeds cut from fondant cutters that I found. They work very well and I had fun using them.

Hi everyone, this is Anna from Koala Soap and today we're going to be making, I'm going to
0:06
be testing the soap in a smaller mold before I put it in a loaf mold and make a larger batch of it
0:13
So first of all what I'm going to do is I need to make the embeds and I really don't need a lot
0:17
of soap for this at all because I'm only going to be filling the very bottoms of these cavities
0:23
with just a very very little bit of goat's milk and I'm going to be using some fondant cutters
0:29
and I want them to be cut fairly thinly so I don't want to I really just don't
0:35
want a lot of soap because I don't want it to pop out but you'll see what I mean in a second so first of all I'm just gonna go ahead and melt the soap okay so
0:44
I have the melt and pour melted I'm gonna use a lab color from bramble berry
0:49
it's already diluted with distilled water it is called canary once you dilute
0:55
this you need to keep it refrigerated I'm just gonna put a little bit of color
1:00
in there so the one thing to remember is that anything you mix with goats milk is
1:07
going to turn a pastel color pretty much black will turn into gray in any of
1:15
these really beautiful colors that are even micas will turn into a pastel so
1:21
basically what I'm doing is I'm just mixing this little lab color in there could be a little bit more I'm just going for a very pale yellow I'm going
1:28
for this this little embed right there and we'll show you how we do it in just
1:33
a second I'm gonna add a little bit more just gonna mix it a little bit okay so
1:48
now here is the secret my favorite mold okay link will be down below or on my
1:55
website I only mixed a little bit of melt more because I'm just I'm just testing this design okay so I only want to pour just enough so that I don't see
2:04
the bottom of the mold here just enough so I don't see the bottom because if I
2:10
pour too much then it'll be way too thick when I cut which I'll still be
2:15
able to cut but it'll really really stand out I think a little bit too much
2:20
on the soap design that I'm going for so as you can see it's covering just the
2:25
bottom give it a little shake there okay I have a little couple bubbles that's
2:31
fine we'll spray it Okay, so now that they're dry, you can just peel them out
2:51
This one, it's still big enough to do something with. And you see how thin these are
2:58
These will always be pliable. Never ever will this get hard because it's so thin
3:15
And then I save these little embeds for later So what I going to do today is I want to do some flowers So this piece is probably too small for that so I just going to put that there and we do something with that later This is again very pliable This is a little bit more detailed a little bit bigger so I really not going to get more than a couple out of this I still start at the end because there some left here I might find something else I want to do with that I don know
3:54
until I do and then what I do is sometimes if it's a little hard for you
3:59
to push down you can have it on top and push it in with your fingers just like
4:06
this okay kind of help it around like this is why you you want it to be thin
4:15
and then I kind of tear away from around it like so and I push down and then I'm
4:31
going to push it out and it comes right out okay so it should come right up if
4:42
I'm pushing here and I notice it's not coming out, what you've done is you've
4:46
kind of locked it. Some of these have this weird lock. You just twist it, then
4:50
push and you see how that comes right out. Okay, so I'm gonna cut a few of these
4:54
flowers out. So I've cut my flowers out, I have a little bit left and I found this
5:00
cute little one. So basically I'm just gonna cut a few of these out. Really easy
5:06
to do. This one doesn't have a pattern so I'm just gonna pop it out there
5:11
okay so for this next part what I'm going to do is I'm going to melt some clear glycerin
5:30
and I'm going to add a little bit of aqua pearl mica I'm also going to remelt what's left of our
5:38
embed cutouts and then I'm going to be putting it in this mold and we're going
5:44
to attempt to have a little bit of a swirl and let's go ahead and melt the
5:49
glycerin. Okay so I've remelted everything. I'm going to add in a summer
5:56
fling. It's part of a tester pack from Bramble Berry. Put a little bit in here
6:02
and yes I'm using a different dropper than what I used for the
6:08
lab colors. Okay so we're gonna do that and then I'm gonna add just a smidge of
6:17
alcohol to my aqua. It's a really pretty green. I'm gonna add that in too
6:38
okay that's our green all right and here's our yellow and it is the same
6:50
yellow that we did these cutouts with so I'm actually going to just the main
6:54
color of the soap will be this color and I'm gonna try swirl in a little bit so
6:58
again I just gonna pour as much as I can and I guess we pour it almost I think three quarters three fourths of the way up will be good Because I still want to pour a little bit of this yellow in
7:18
So it looks like I'm only going to have room for two
7:21
I'm going to pour all this in the next mold and maybe we'll do a cutout, some cutouts there
7:31
Okay. a little bit of alcohol there I'm gonna see what this is might be two so it's
7:46
143 145 133 I guess it'll be okay so we'll go ahead and pour I don't want a
7:54
skin really yeah just want to pour in I'm gonna pour from high so I should have
8:04
those spouted ones but here we go and I'm gonna fill up the rest of this mold
8:15
with this color hopefully there's enough there may not be enough that's okay this
8:29
was a test batch anyway so I'm not that worried about it screw or these I got
8:36
from smart and final they were on sale for 79 cents for like 500 of them so if
8:41
you can get your hands on it do it and I'm not gonna go crazy you know how I
8:45
like love to go crazy with this world thing but I'm not going to promise
8:50
myself I'm not going to I'll leave it at that I'm gonna get these air bubbles out
8:55
and then as this cools a little bit what I usually do is I use a little bit of
9:02
the I remelt this and I'm going to use this melt and pour or this melt and pour
9:08
it doesn't matter I'm going to use it as glue so I'm still going to spray the top
9:13
with alcohol I'm still going to spray the flour with alcohol but I'm also going
9:17
to use the melt and pour as glue okay and we're going to just kind of see how
9:22
turns out. We're gonna wait for these to cool down. Okay, welcome back everybody. We
9:31
are here to unmold these soaps. They are done and I have my little embeds here
9:36
We'll kind of see how it came out. It's a nice nice swirl in there. We actually
9:45
did it yay a little swirl there but it looks kind of nice okay we'll just turn
9:53
them upside down this is I have a little bit of that green left as you saw and so
9:58
what I decided I have a little bit of purple soap on there from that butterfly
10:03
in bed I was just seeing how it looked there was a little bit of green left and
10:07
I thought you know what that's such a pretty color and the interesting thing about this Pearl Mica from Bramble Berry, Aqua Pearl Mica, is I don't know if you
10:17
can see it, but it looks like I have glitter in there, and I don't. So it's
10:23
nice because I have a glitter effect without having to use my glitter. Okay
10:28
and then we have our embeds, and then what I want to do is I kind of want to place them and see how they're gonna look. And the part that's the top of the
10:36
mold the part that was sitting up top if you moved it all i don know if you can see but there like little ridges you see that okay so you you going to be putting your embeds on the flat part the part that was at the bottom here and so that is these sides okay and
10:51
I'm going to keep them a little elevated I kind of want to see how you know how these little embeds
10:58
are going to look before I put them on so I'm thinking something like this and then I thought
11:06
Well, if I can do that, these are so pliable, can I do something like this where it's kind of going around the edge
11:14
And you can, but sometimes they may break. So I broke my butterfly in half
11:25
So you kind of have to be really careful. You can do it. Okay, you can
11:30
Yes, you can. And then you can go ahead and put your alcohol on it
11:34
Oh, see, that one broke. You kind of have to be really careful, but you can do it
11:38
You just have to be very careful when you're bending it. And some of them will bend, some might break, but that's why you can just remelt it and try it again
11:47
Okay, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to adhere these to the soaps
11:55
And what I did is, if you remember, we had a little bit of glycerin left
12:00
I have my alcohol and I have my embeds. So we're just going to make sure that this glycerin is warm or at least hot enough so that I can dip it onto the soap bar
12:11
So what I'm going to do, I guess we'll do this one. I'm going to do this one last
12:16
I'm going to make this my cover photo for this video. I'm going to work on these two. Okay, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to use my little spoon here
12:26
I get these little spoons at the yogurt shop, the little local yogurt shop that my kids love
12:32
you see I kind of put a little dab right there and then I'm going to squirt squirt
12:37
and just push it down and let it set you
13:22
I really like it I think less is more in this case so I think this is gonna be
13:28
really pretty this one might have a little bit too much yellow in it because because I think the flowers might get a little lost
13:33
But the point is, it's a cute little design. My mom will love it, which is really important
13:40
because I like to send these soaps to her. She's in Pennsylvania, and they haven't seemed to have stopped getting blizzards there right now
13:47
So it's kind of a little care package. It cheers her up. Thank you
