However, the monkey became greedy and kept asking the elephant to lift him up for more bananas. The elephant, being a good friend, obliged every time. But the monkey's greed kept increasing and he started demanding more bananas than he could eat. The elephant tried to reason with him, but the monkey refused to listen. One day, when the elephant refused to lift him up for more bananas, the monkey became angry and started throwing sticks and stones at him. The elephant realized that his friend was no longer the same and had become selfish and greedy. He decided to end their friendship and walked away. The monkey realized his mistake and apologized to the elephant, but it was too late.
