A BIG FIBA RULE CHANGE just happened in Overseas Basketball (Players Have More Power Now) #shorts

Feb 2, 2023

Overseas Basketball Agents are a powerful tool for professional basketball players. But with FIBA's new agent rule changes, the Player - Agent relationship has now completely shifted. For instance, now players can work with multiple agents and/or basketball agencies at the same time. That means players can work with European basketball agents, Canadian/American basketball agents, basketball agents in big Asian markets like Japan, South Korea etc. But that also makes for an interesting dilemma: Should you work with multiple agents or just stick with one? While I think it is tempting to work with multiple agents, I believe players will get the best value (long-term) in working with a single (good) agent since they will be more committed to working for a single player. However, I could also see the value in working with multiple agents at the beginning of your career when you just need to get your overseas basketball career started (aka get your foot in the door). In the end, this is a trade-off that all players must consider and decide for themselves.
