There are many miracles on this planet and it's to no surprise that many of them are right here in Pakistan
0:06
When I trekked to Ketu, the world's second tallest mountain, just over a year ago, there was a valley close by, deep in the Karakoram mountain rains that I dreamt of seeing for myself
0:15
So, for the next three days, I will be trekking to what I can only describe as paradise
0:20
through rugged terrain, winding steep valleys and alongside glacier rivers to reach
0:30
Before I began trekking I had to reach a village named Khandai
0:46
So on day one our mission was to drive from Skadu City alongside the Indus River through Ganshe towards Kaplu and then up north towards Khandai
0:55
The drive would take us around five to six hours and the beauty of this region here in Baltistan is how vast the landscapes are
1:02
All around you are huge, towering mountain peaks covered in snow. And as you drive closer and closer to Kandai, the peaks only become more giant, with peaks becoming a minimum of 6,000 metres all around you
1:21
We have just arrived to the village of Kandai. This is around 3000 meters in altitude. It is just before 9 o'clock
1:28
It only took us roughly around five hours to reach us to a little bit shorter than I thought
1:33
This is gonna be our base for this evening before we trek to Nagma Valley tomorrow morning
1:38
I'm very happy to have arrived. Let's eat, sleep and I'll see you tomorrow morning
1:54
Good morning everybody. It is 7.45 a.m. I'm ready to go. I'm up. I've had breakfast, some chai
2:04
and I've woken up to the most incredible views. You can see behind the huge snow-cut peaks
2:10
I'm heading into this valley just over here. What I can hear right now are all the children going to
2:15
school. It is such a beautiful sight. They're running through the valleys. There's roosters
2:22
what a peaceful place I slept so good and I'm really excited
2:29
I dreamt of doing this trek for such a long time and I'm so, so happy
2:34
I'm blessed that I'm doing it all thanks to Asif shall we go
3:22
I'm roughly about one hour into the trick. I'm a little bit short for breath. The terrain
3:46
is a little tough we've gone down the valley to come back up across the river
3:54
as you can see we've around we're now in altitude of around 3100 meters and we're
4:01
heading up here I am panting a lot
4:10
I'm just about to hit the steepest part of the Inishiming Plane, straight up this valley
4:25
I'm so happy that it's sunny so I can see the beautiful peaks of the mountains
4:31
However, when you're hiking, this is not where you are. It is extremely hot and dusty
5:46
It is 10.31. I am around two hours into the hike. We left a little bit later than originally intended
5:56
because we had to pick up some things from the market and we ended up giving some sweets to the local children on their way to school
6:05
And yeah, I've officially hit my flow state. I love this state that you get when you're hiking
6:16
level and uh yeah it feels like flying down the mountain i'm not going so fast because i want my
6:23
body to get used to the altitude we are now at just about to touch 3500 meters and i can see
6:31
laguma valley just in front of me the sheer rock with snow covering all of the peaks
6:39
i cannot wait to arrive wow Wow. Our first task today is to get to Mingolo Brat camp
7:39
This is 625 metres above where we began, down in Khandai at 2920 metres
7:47
We're heading up a further 625 metres and usually this is where trekkers stop and they stop
7:53
for the day, they enjoy and they camp overnight and then the next day they head to Nagmar
7:58
Valley which is a further 500 metres above where we were in Mokola Brock
8:03
However I'm feeling good, I'm feeling excited, I have no altitude sickness, I'm feeling
8:08
strong and the weather is beautiful so I think we've agreed as a team to head
8:13
straight to Nagma we're gonna skip Mingolab Rock and camp in Nagma directly
8:18
so I'm really excited we're gonna head on it's another around 15 minutes to the
8:24
first camp it's 11.05 which means we've arrived we will arrive inshallah
8:29
to which means we will arrive to the next camp at three hours instead of four
8:35
so we are making good time and then the nagma camp further on is around another hour at our speed
8:41
i think so yeah i'm feeling good i'm ready i'm excited the weather is beautiful there is a rainbow
8:48
above my head recovered by snowcat peaks and i'm currently at 3550 meters high
8:57
i feel so blessed It is 11.31pm, I'm just arriving into Mingolo Brook at 3,561m
9:22
We're going to stop for lunch and refuel. I love you
10:05
We ended up staying in the camp for over two and a half hours just down in the valley and
10:23
yeah we were loving it it was such a beautiful beautiful place with good conversation amazing
10:30
lunch full of baby yak and cow and good hot hot chai. Now we've continued the journey roughly
10:39
only one hour to go and we climbing to an altitude of around 4 meters towards Nagmar Valley and this I don want to say it too early but I think from what I have witnessed already and what I can see in front of me this could
10:54
potentially be one of the most naturally beautiful places I've ever been to in my
11:00
entire life. Wow! Thank you
12:43
Welcome to one of the most beautiful places of Baltistan
13:03
Welcome to Nagmavali. I can't believe the beauty that is right behind me
13:09
This, I think, is the most beautiful place naturally that I've been to in Pakistan
13:19
The sheer scale of these mountains, there's glaciers above. I'm really, I'm really blown away. I don't know what to say
13:33
Beautiful day of hiking, beautiful day of trekking with Asif and everyone else
13:39

15:50

15:57
is gonna be amazing and honestly right now I'm just feeling very overwhelmed
16:02
with the beauty here I uh I keep crying honestly this is uh this is just I can even find the words it just
16:18
it's so mesmerizing. The world is full of so many miracles, and I'm looking right now
16:28
and I'm staying here in one. in one. No more words left
16:44
The sun has almost set on what has been one of the most incredible days of my life
16:50
This place is beyond words and I'm so excited to be waking up tomorrow morning, unzipping
16:59
my tent and watching the sunrise. Tomorrow morning we're actually heading on another small expedition to the peak just up here
17:09
And hopefully we will watch the sun come up and light the valley pink
17:16
Let's see. For now I'm going to say goodnight. We will eat some dinner and then I will rest really well and wake up tomorrow morning
17:27
I'm just in disbelief that I'm here. I am so emotional. I'm so happy. This is one of the happiest days of my life
17:39

20:02
I've just arrived back here in Scaldew City
20:28

20:33
That by far is the most beautiful place naturally that I've seen here in Baltistan
20:38
I loved every single second from the hike to staying and camping overnight
20:43
seeing the stars, seeing Jupiter and watching the full moon grate itself across the sky
20:49
I feel incredibly blessed and honoured to have had the chance to go back to this beautiful
20:54

21:04
many opportunities for me to leave on other journeys and I find myself still here in Skardu
