these Merchants must know something of
0:06
te
0:14
etiquette do
0:16
[Music]
0:19
you you know where I can learn te
0:23
etiquette Who do I look like Senor
0:27
Riku who is He Who is no Ru he is the
0:32
Undisputed Master of the tea
0:38
ceremony and you shower Master suu with
0:41
the same play if he were here shopping
0:43
for tea nonsense master rku I would be
0:48
content if I had no other customer but
0:52
you a very gracious Li
1:00
do you teach the Tea
1:04
Ceremony uh mostly to the disinterested
1:07
offspring of powerful Dao and wealthy
1:10
merchants I am no Dao's daughter I'm
1:14
just a simple traditor interested in the
1:16
ways of te oh yes I am told tea
1:20
ceremonies are a good place to meet
1:21
people of influence and perhaps their
1:25
influential
1:27
Masters you are not from Sak
1:30
you have been traded your spirit for the
1:32
promise of prosperity no I am not I must
1:36
learn etiquette for master soku's Tea
1:39
Ceremony master
1:41
so then you will need my help walk me to
1:44
my home we can talk on the way have
1:48
those te brought to my home would you so
1:52
what is it that you are really here to
1:54
do in zakai I told you I'm here to trade
1:57
and make contact yeah yes that's what
2:01
you told me at any rate opportunity has
2:04
placed us on a common path and who am I
2:07
to refuse to go why did you react to
2:10
master soku's name like that you don't
2:13
like him as a
2:15
[Music]
2:17
fellow master I respect what he has
2:20
achieved but we have different
2:22
philosophies when it comes to te so you
2:25
don't like him ah we have arriv
2:30
you must approach your training in a
2:32
state of
2:34
Readiness let
2:36
[Music]
2:42
me know when you were right to
2:50
begin I am ready H then come with me
3:02
[Music]
3:15
[Music]
3:22
this place is beautiful Master ah it was
3:26
designed around the four virtues respect
3:30
Tranquility Purity and
3:33
Harmony I approach my ceremonies the
3:36
same way before we begin can I ask what
3:40
you want from
3:41
me what do I
3:44
want I'm told everything here is either
3:46
bargained or bought what do you want in
3:50
return dear child so many people demand
3:54
a price I try to bring a pinch of
3:58
balance into the world
4:00
what I give is freely
4:03
[Music]
4:04
given now then let's begin with basic
4:09
etiquette Rank and title are put aside
4:13
guests enter as equals so host becomes a
4:18
servant First Impressions tell people
4:21
how to treat you how would you bow to me
4:37
too much treat the guests like Dio and
4:41
they'll make you their
4:43
servant the half bow puts us on equal
4:46
standing free from Pride or Prejudice we
4:50
can discuss art poetry
4:54
architecture I am not very skilled in
4:56
the art certainly not in poetry
5:01
nonsense it's simply comparing things to
5:04
express feeling or giving voice to
5:07
Nature like thunder tears the
5:13
sky I see like blood blossoming from a
5:19
wound yes but with s duck you not need
5:23
to compose a poem on theight Purity is
5:26
honored in thought and action
5:30
the cleaning of
5:31
utensils the Turning of the ball the
5:35
Turning of the ball we drink from a
5:37
common ball each turns it slightly to
5:41
the right in this way the front the most
5:44
beautiful part of the ball faces the
5:47
host and other guests as a sign of
5:51
humidity of respect is there anything
5:54
else I should
5:56
know it is customary to give a gift at
6:00
the end of the ceremony I have something
6:03
to show you my Apprentice has SED three
6:06
items from my Personal
6:09
Collection you may choose one to give to
6:12
master SOI a Ying teapot with gold trim
6:17
representing the height of Chinese
6:20
craftsmanship a humble tea Reef jaw that
6:23
has passed through the hands of many
6:26
Masters finally this unassuming bamboo
6:31
radal fashioned by the unequal Craftsman
6:35
Shoku I can't accept any of these you're
6:38
too
6:39
generous
6:41
nonsense simply return that generosity
6:44
to me or someone else and so we keep the
6:49
world in
6:50
Balance choose
6:53
[Music]
7:06
[Music]
7:14
I will take the yeting teapot with the
7:16
gold trim mm an exellent choice I hope
7:21
you will find what you seek at a
7:24
ceremony and do come to see me once
7:26
you've taken care of business
7:35
I have what I need to attend the Tea
7:37
Ceremony now back to house
7:51
IMI you don't smell too bad
8:01
I don't know
