Men who are afraid of being turned on by my male cheerleaders! #podcast #toxicmasculinity

Every accusation has a touch of admittance. Why do YOU think straight, "alpha dogs" find so much time to complain about something that's been around since the 70s?
*1970s–1980s: Male cheerleaders did exist in the NFL, but mostly as stuntmen and tumblers—supporting the female squads. Teams like the Baltimore Colts and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders occasionally used them for lifts and tosses. By the late 80s, most NFL teams phased them out in favor of the more dance/entertainment-focused squads.
*1989–2017: For decades, the NFL was almost exclusively female cheer squads. Male cheerleaders stuck around at the college level, especially in powerhouse programs (SEC, ACC, Big 12 schools).
*2018: Male cheerleaders officially returned to NFL sidelines as dancers—not just stuntmen—for the first time in modern history. The Los Angeles Rams (Napoleon Jinnies, Quinton Peron) and the New Orleans Saints (Jesse Hernandez) broke the barrier, becoming the first men to join NFL dance-style cheerleading squads.
*2019–Present: After the media buzz, other teams began adding men as well. Today, several NFL franchises (like the Panthers, Ravens, Colts, Titans) have men integrated into their cheer squads.
