Panang Curry
Introduction
Panang Curry is a rich and flavorful Thai dish known for its creamy coconut milk base and aromatic spices. Originating from Central Thailand, this curry is typically milder than other Thai curries, making it a favorite among those who prefer a less spicy meal. The distinct flavor of Panang Curry comes from the addition of ground peanuts, which adds a delightful nuttiness to the dish. Traditionally made with beef or chicken, this curry can also be adapted for vegetarians by using tofu or vegetables.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp Panang curry paste
1 can (14 oz) coconut milk
1 lb chicken or beef, thinly sliced
3-4 kaffir lime leaves, torn
2 tbsp ground peanuts
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp palm sugar
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Steps:
Heat the Curry Paste: In a pot over medium heat, add a small amount of coconut milk and the Panang curry paste. Stir until fragrant.
