Oyster Stew Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pint (16 ounces) fresh shucked oysters, with their liquor
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 celery stalks, finely chopped
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Dash of Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Dash of hot sauce (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Oysters: Drain the oysters, reserving their liquor. If needed, strain the liquor through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any shell fragments. Set aside.
Cook the Vegetables: In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
