Homemade Whipped Cream in Minutes
Whipped cream is a delightful, versatile topping that can elevate many dishes. Fortunately, making it at home is quick and easy, requiring just a few simple ingredients. This recipe is perfect for those following a carnivore diet, as it uses minimal ingredients and produces rich, creamy results.
Ingredients:
1 cup heavy cream (cold)
1-2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional, for sweetness)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for flavor)
Preparation:
Chill Equipment: For best results, chill your mixing bowl and beaters (or whisk) in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes before starting. Cold equipment helps the cream whip up faster and achieve a better texture.
Pour Cream: Pour the cold heavy cream into the chilled mixing bowl.
Add Sweetener (Optional): If you prefer your whipped cream to be sweetened, add 1-2 tablespoons of powdered sugar. You can adjust the amount based on your taste preferences. For a more intense flavor, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Start Whipping: Using an electric mixer, start beating the cream on low speed to avoid splattering. Gradually increase to medium-high speed as the cream begins to thicken. If you’re whipping by hand, use a whisk and beat in a steady, circular motion.
Check Consistency: Continue to whip until soft peaks form. Soft peaks will hold their shape but gently fold over when you lift the beaters. For firmer peaks, keep whipping until the cream forms stiff peaks, which stand straight up when you lift the beaters. Be cautious not to overwhip, as this can turn the cream into butter.
