Ham Salad Recipe
Introduction: Ham salad is a delightful, versatile dish that's perfect for sandwiches, spreads, or even as a side. With minimal ingredients, it's an easy way to use leftover ham or make a quick meal. This recipe focuses on creating a simple, flavorful ham salad with a creamy texture and a hint of tanginess.
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked ham, finely diced
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ham: Begin by dicing the cooked ham into small, even pieces. If you’re using leftover ham, ensure it’s finely chopped so it blends well with the other ingredients.
Mix the Dressing: In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and sweet pickle relish. Mix until smooth.
Combine Ingredients: Add the diced ham to the bowl with the dressing. If using, fold in the finely chopped onion. Stir until all ingredients are well-coated with the dressing.
Season: Taste the mixture and season with salt and pepper to your preference. If desired, you can add a bit more relish or mustard to adjust the flavor.
Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together, enhancing the overall taste.
