Fettuccine Alfredo is a creamy and indulgent pasta dish that's beloved by many. Here's a simple recipe to create this classic Italian favorite at home:
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.
2. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
3. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet with the melted butter and garlic. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
