Crispy Flautas Recipe
Flautas, also known as taquitos, are a delicious Mexican dish consisting of rolled tortillas filled with seasoned meat or beans, then fried until crispy. They are perfect as a snack or a main dish and can be customized with your favorite fillings. This recipe uses minimal ingredients for a simple yet flavorful result.
Ingredients:
12 small corn tortillas
1 cup shredded cooked chicken (or beef)
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
1/2 cup refried beans
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken or beef with the refried beans. Season with salt and pepper. For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cumin or chili powder if desired.
Warm the Tortillas:
Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat until they are pliable (about 30 seconds per side). This will prevent them from cracking when rolled.
