Cold Foam Recipe
Introduction: Cold foam is a velvety, airy topping that adds a touch of elegance to your cold beverages. It’s often used in coffee drinks but can also enhance iced teas and other beverages. With a few simple ingredients, you can make cold foam at home that rivals what you'd get at a coffee shop.
Ingredients:
1 cup cold milk (whole milk or your preferred dairy-free alternative)
2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup (or sweetener of choice)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
Preparation:
Chill the Equipment: Before starting, ensure your mixing bowl or pitcher is cold. You can chill it in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes.
Combine Ingredients: In your chilled mixing bowl, combine the cold milk, vanilla syrup, and vanilla extract (if using). Stir the mixture gently to blend the ingredients.
Froth the Mixture: Use a hand-held milk frother, electric frother, or a whisk to froth the mixture. If using a frother, immerse it in the milk and turn it on. Move it up and down until the mixture is light and frothy. This should take about 30 seconds. If using a whisk, vigorously whisk the milk in a circular motion until it doubles in volume and forms a thick foam.
Seasoning: The vanilla syrup adds sweetness to the cold foam, but you can adjust the amount to taste. You may also experiment with flavored syrups or a pinch of cinnamon for extra flair.
