Classic Mashed Potatoes
Enjoy the creamy goodness of classic mashed potatoes with this simple and comforting recipe:
Ingredients:
2 lbs (about 900g) potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
4 tbsp (56g) butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized chunks.
Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.
Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes thoroughly and return them to the pot.
Add the butter and milk to the pot with the potatoes.
Use a potato masher or a hand mixer to mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if needed to achieve your desired consistency.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir well.
