Classic Hamburger Patties Recipe

Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
Preparation:
Mix the Meat: In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional garlic and onion powder. Use your hands or a fork to mix until just combined; avoid over-mixing to keep the patties tender.
Shape Patties: Divide the meat into 4 equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb; this helps them cook evenly and prevents puffing up in the center.
