Classic French Clafoutis Recipe
Introduction: Clafoutis is a traditional French dessert, most often made with cherries, but you can use various fruits like berries, plums, or apples. It has a custard-like texture with a slightly crisp top and is incredibly simple to make, requiring just a handful of ingredients. The batter is similar to pancake or crepe batter, poured over the fruit and baked until golden and puffed. It’s a perfect dessert to make when you want something elegant yet easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh cherries (pitted) or other fruits
3 large eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Butter (for greasing the baking dish)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter.
Prepare the fruit: If using cherries, pit them first. Scatter them evenly across the bottom of the greased dish.
