Chia Seed Pudding with Almond Milk
Introduction
Chia seed pudding is a delicious and nutritious breakfast or snack that’s incredibly easy to make. Packed with fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids, chia seeds are a superfood that transforms into a creamy pudding when soaked in liquid. This recipe uses almond milk, making it dairy-free and vegan-friendly. With just a few ingredients and minimal effort, you can prepare a satisfying treat that can be customized with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
1/4 cup chia seeds
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fresh fruits, nuts, or granola for topping
Instructions
Combine Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the chia seeds, almond milk, maple syrup or honey (if using), and vanilla extract. Stir well to ensure the chia seeds are evenly distributed.
Mix Thoroughly: Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes, then stir again to break up any clumps that may have formed. This step ensures that the chia seeds absorb the liquid evenly.
Refrigerate: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results. The chia seeds will swell and thicken the mixture to a pudding-like consistency.
Stir and Serve: Before serving, give the pudding a good stir. If it’s too thick, you can add a bit more almond milk to reach your desired consistency.
