Chia pudding is a nutritious and delicious treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, dessert, or as a healthy snack. Made with chia seeds and your choice of liquid, it's easy to customize with your favorite flavors and toppings. Here's a simple recipe to make chia pudding at home:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond milk, coconut milk, or soy milk)
- 1 tablespoon sweetener of your choice (such as honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, or sugar)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: fresh fruit, berries, nuts, seeds, granola, shredded coconut, nut butter, chocolate chips, or dried fruit
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl or jar, combine the chia seeds, milk, sweetener, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
2. Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate the chia seed mixture for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken into a pudding-like consistency. Stir the mixture a few times during the first hour to prevent clumping.
3. After refrigerating, give the chia pudding a good stir to break up any clumps and distribute the seeds evenly.
4. Taste the chia pudding and adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more sweetener if desired.
