1 package (9-12 oz) cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (or 1 tsp dried basil)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup of pasta water (reserved from cooking)
Instructions:
Cook the Tortellini:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-5 minutes for fresh and 7-9 minutes for frozen), or until they float to the surface and are tender.
Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the tortellini and set aside.
