Alfredo Sauce:
Alfredo sauce is one of my favorite things to have with a big bowl of pasta! It’s a very rich and indulgent treat for dinner. I also love that it only takes about 5-10 minutes to whip up a batch! This recipe will yield about two cups of sauce total. It can easily be doubled if you are feeding a crowd or want extra for later. The bottled Alfredo just doesn’t compare to this delicious homemade version! If you love cooking from scratch, make some of this Homemade Pasta to go along with your sauce!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the heavy cream and stir continuously until it starts to simmer. Reduce the heat to low.
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the cream mixture, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if desired. Taste and adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
Continue to simmer the sauce gently for a few more minutes until it thickens slightly.
Once the sauce reaches your desired consistency, remove it from the heat.
