It has now officially been one year since I last did a video on my own geography subreddit

And that's because the subreddit kind of took on a life of its own, where it was growing without me

The posts stopped being about me specifically, and were instead just about geography in general

To the point where many of the subreddit members didn't even know who I was

So it just meant that when I was recording a video on the subreddit, I didn't really have that much to contribute

But, seeing as it has officially now been one year, I thought let's look at the top posts of the last 12 months

just because it should be quite interesting either way, and we'll see how long it takes to see something that's actually related to me specifically

So, top post of the year with 1,700 upvotes and over 3,000 comments

is if you had to get rid of an American state, what would it be? In what way are we getting rid of them

The number of sockets without switches really bothers me. Oh yeah, my god, it's not just normal to have switches like it is in the UK

It's protective measures for children, unnecessary house fires and all-around prevention from complete stupidity

We have three holes in the UK. The top is to open the bottom two. Oh, yeah, that's another thing

The reason that this one at the top is longer is because it pushes a little contraption in the back of a socket

which allows the bits that electricity to go through to connect and prevents like children from just shoving forks in the socket holes and

electrocuting themselves because they can't do it unless they've unlocked it from the top. Oh, it's just genius

Anyway, back to switches. A switch also saves money. Switches are efficient energy savers

whilst easy to forget for foreigners here in the UK are very energy aware due to the cost of energy being higher

Yeah, a switch is the most logical thing ever. It just allows you to turn something off when you're not using it

So it's not used electricity. How do people not have switches Do people in the US just have everything on all of the time This is blowing my mind Guys what will you call this country And they combined the USA and Norway
