Reaching the word limit for the exam without writing too much or too little is an essential skill to score higher. There are two methods to gain control of the number of words you write. The first method is to write an essay, count how many words on average you have in each line, and divide 250 (optimum number of words) by your average; this will give you the number of lines you will need to write. If you are a bit more advanced with your writing skills, you can use another method: roughly follow a brief essay plan where you write approximately two or three sentences on your introduction, four or five sentences in each of your body paragraphs, and a couple of sentences (one or two, maybe three) on your conclusion/summary. However, when using the second technique you will need to know approximately how many words you are writing per sentence. Hitting the word limit will free you some time to read through your writing, check for mistakes that you have made in previous essays, and correct your essay.
