Let's begin! First is, describe a public facility that has been renovated or improved
0:37
First of all, what is a public facility? Well, it is something that the government provides to its people so that their lives will become more convenient or more comfortable
0:48
For example, a park, a bridge, a station, traffic lights, a hospital, and many more
0:55
Now, what could be the reason or reasons why it has to be renovated
1:00
Well, perhaps it has been vandalized by some irresponsible people. Or it could be it has been severely damaged by a typhoon
1:12
Or maybe government officials simply want to level up the condition of this particular public facility so that people can make use of it more efficiently
1:24
Now, if there is no public facility that has been renovated in your town or in your city, then simply make things up
1:32
Just focus on talking about the reasons. You can create some reasons why this public facility has to be renovated
1:42
Then talk about the process of the renovation, the outcome of the renovation, and more importantly, how people respond to the renovation
1:54
Did they feel happy about the outcome of the renovation? Or did they feel like the government simply overspent money on renovation
2:04
And that made people feel so bad about that renovation. You know, something like that
2:11
I think these ideas are enough for you to develop a 2-minute monologue
2:16

2:45
Goodbye, 6.5! Next is, describe an interesting activity that you enjoyed doing the most in your primary school
2:53
What do you think are the common activities that are interesting that primary schoolers enjoy doing
2:59
Well, based on my own experience when I went to a primary school, physical activities such as playing outside with other children, dancing, exercising, and even gymnastics
3:14
For example, if I talk about gymnastics, I have to make sure that I know some topic words about gymnastics such as somersault, split, handstand, swing on bars
3:29
Why is that? Because these are important so I can create more details of my story
3:38
Each of these words gives me some great ideas that I can add to my story
3:47
In other words, I'll be able to talk more and at the same time improve my score in the criterion lexical resource because again, I know some of these words
3:58
I mean, I know words about gymnastics. Well, I can tell my examiner that I enjoyed doing gymnastics because for me, that was playtime
4:10
And I can also talk about how that gymnastics helped me keep myself fit because of course, I had to move my body as much as I could
4:26
Then I can talk about the competitions I joined that showcased my talent in gymnastics
4:34
Considering all these ideas, I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to create a great monologue
4:47
Who doesn't use a map these days? I think all of us use a map, especially Google Maps or Apple Maps when we travel or visit an unfamiliar place
4:57
Therefore, this topic should be a walk in the park. In my reviewer, I simply talked about how I used Google Maps when I traveled abroad
5:09
Like Google Maps helped me locate famous tourist destinations very easily, helped me find train or bus stations in an instant
5:20
and helped me understand where I had to get off the train or bus without any confusion at all
5:28
In other words, I simply talked about the conveniences that Google Maps provided me when I traveled
5:35
You can use these ideas of mine. And you can simply add more ideas by talking about or by differentiating about the use of paper maps and electronic maps
5:46
Like when you prefer using a paper map and when you prefer using an electronic map
5:52
I think these ideas are enough for you to create a two-minute monologue and help you create an interesting story
6:02
Anyway, two good expressions that you can use for this topic are
6:06
Look through, which means briefly examine. For example, let me look through this tourist map first before we leave
6:15
Second, a sense of direction. The ability to find places or to know which direction to go
6:23
For example, I don't think I have a sense of direction at all
6:28
Therefore, you can't rely on me when you travel with me. Try using these expressions so that you can improve your score in the Criterion Lexical Resource
6:41
And I would like to congratulate my student, Leanne Castile, for achieving Advanced 7 on her first try at taking the IELTS exam
6:49
Congratulations on your recent success. I'm so happy that you made it
