Defense Minister Vs. IDF: Israeli army rejects Katz bid to replace top general

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has ignited a major political and military crisis by appearing to announce live on television that he was replacing the head of the IDF Central Command, Major General Avi Bluth. The IDF immediately pushed back, clarifying that Bluth remains in his position and that the Defense Minister does not have the authority to unilateraly fire a general.
