When it comes to taxes, not even the biggest stars are beyond the reach of the IRS. Take legendary actor Nicolas Cage, for example. The Hollywood star reportedly racked up massive tax debts after years of lavish spending on yachts, castles and even a dinosaur skull. Cage found himself in $6.2 million worth of debt, forcing him to sell many of his luxury assets, including cars and homes in order to settle what he owed. Then there’s Lauryn Hill, the Grammy-winning music icon served three months in jail and a further three in home confinement in 2013 after she failed to pay $554,000 in taxes. The hip-hop icon also owed approximately $500,000 in state and federal taxes for unreported income. Speaking of iconic musicians, country superstar Willie Nelson once faced a staggering $32 million in tax debt. To help pay off the debt, Nelson recorded the album: “The IRS Tapes: Who’ll Buy My Memories.”
