hey Husker fans welcome back to the
0:02
Husker Big Red YouTube channel i'm Chris
0:04
Peterson and joining me as always is my
0:06
co-host is Danny Gillette and we're back
0:07
here for another episode of the podcast
0:09
here on Monday morning as we're going to
0:11
look back on uh the 2025 NFL draft a
0:15
couple Huskers got selected there maybe
0:17
not as many as we hoped or wanted but uh
0:19
hopefully that will change going forward
0:20
so we'll look back on the 2025 draft um
0:23
look ahead to 2026 uh talk about spring
0:25
ball everything that happened during the
0:27
Hustard games on Saturday um have our
0:29
usual recruiting nuggets so um before we
0:31
get into it Danny uh how are you doing
0:33
on this Monday morning i want some
0:35
nuggets now but I'm doing good uh I'm
0:37
doing good uh tired covering the NFL
0:40
draft and uh all the recruiting stuff in
0:43
the Nebraska Yes spring game was quite
0:46
taxing on my fingers but I'm here and uh
0:50
fun weekend fun weekend i like being
0:51
busy so it was good how are you i'm
0:54
doing well and yeah the the NFL draft is
0:56
always a fun time and so that's come and
0:58
gone um in from a Nebraska perspective
1:01
we had two guys come off the board
1:02
Saturday ty Robinson uh went to the
1:04
Eagles in the fourth round thomas Fedoni
1:06
went to the Giants in the seventh round
1:08
um I was I guess not shocked that some
1:10
of the other guys didn't go i thought
1:11
they were all borderline picks but um
1:13
the one thing that has surprised me I
1:15
guess Tommy Hill still hasn't signed as
1:17
a rookie free agent um some of the other
1:20
guys have nash signed with the Ravens um
1:23
I'm trying to think who else john
1:24
Bullock and Ben Scott both signed with
1:27
the Bucks um Isaiah Ner signed with the
1:30
49ers there's one other I'm thinking of
1:32
that I'm blanking that went to I think
1:35
he went to the Bills but any at any rate
1:37
um those are the guys I could think off
1:38
the top of my head right now no Tommy
1:40
Hill yet um I'm sure that will you know
1:43
that will happen that is a little bit
1:44
surprising he was listed as one of the
1:45
top uh rookie free agents by NFL.com but
1:49
what just uh looking back at you know
1:51
what are your thoughts on this weekend
1:52
from a Nebraska perspective from the
1:54
draft i'm not surprised um I am very
1:58
happy for Ty Robinson and Thomas Adoney
2:00
i think when you look at the
2:02
Philadelphia Eagles they needed somebody
2:04
to replace Milton Williams who went to
2:06
our Patriots so Ty Robinson I think can
2:09
fit really well on the defense in that
2:11
regard uh they are known for good player
2:13
development philadelphia is on both
2:15
sides of the football so I think for him
2:17
that's a great situation as well thomas
2:19
Adoni ending up in New York i mean he's
2:22
going to be able to hopefully catch
2:24
passes from veteran quarterbacks and
2:26
Russell Wilson and Jameus Winston so I
2:28
think anytime you know the New York
2:30
Giants quarterback situation isn't
2:32
perfect but you know Russ Russ Wilson
2:35
and Winston know what they're doing so I
2:38
think that puts him in a good place to
2:40
succeed as well
2:42
yeah I think uh it'll be it'll be
2:44
definitely interesting to see how both
2:45
of those guys do and um it's kind of fun
2:47
to see Kyrie Robinson ending up in
2:49
Philly um you know we're obviously Cam
2:52
Jurgens's and they just won the Super
2:54
Bowl um and yeah actually uh it's funny
2:57
i think Skip Bis actually really liked
2:59
the pick of Tai Robinson so um yeah I
3:02
thought he should have went earlier i
3:04
mean he uh definitely is a guy that has
3:06
some pass rush ability i think he's a
3:07
really good run stopper um I don't think
3:09
he should have made it into the fourth
3:11
round um so kind of interesting how it
3:14
all um you know worked out i looking
3:17
back at Nash you know I'm just wondering
3:19
if maybe you know losing some of that
3:21
weight that he didn't quite gain back
3:23
you know if that you know hurt his stock
3:24
a little bit and then um you know I was
3:27
wrong with some guys you know I thought
3:28
that other you know like uh last year I
3:31
did think that Isaac Gford had a chance
3:33
to potentially get drafted he's the
3:35
other guy that um I think is the one I
3:36
was thinking of that signed with the
3:38
Bills um Isaac Gford but um yeah so only
3:41
two guys drafted which was less than I
3:43
thought that there would be um about a
3:45
year ago and so some of that I think you
3:48
know
3:49
just getting caught up in the coach
3:51
speak I guess a little bit because Matt
3:52
Rule's kind of a lot the guy that
3:53
plugged a lot of these guys you know
3:54
Bryce Benhurd also hasn't got signed um
3:57
you know it's good to have two guys but
3:59
Nebraska definitely needs to get that
4:02
production that draft production back up
4:04
to you know averaging like four five six
4:06
guys getting drafted um I think that's
4:08
where I think that's where they need to
4:10
be so like the NFL draft isn't the end
4:12
all beall but you you want to have more
4:13
than two guys going and Nebraska's you
4:15
know been in that range for too long it
4:17
seems like to me it's coming it's coming
4:21
but you know I think um I think it's
4:25
just a reminder
4:27
of how we view them as players uh coach
4:30
included and how the rest of the rest of
4:32
the league views them and um I'm glad to
4:36
see a lot of these guys sign as
4:37
undrafted free agents honestly I'm not
4:40
shocked that we didn't see more players
4:42
drafted because Isaiah Ner in my opinion
4:45
was borderline isaac Gford he has a ton
4:48
of heart and I always thought he was a
4:49
good player but last season I thought he
4:51
struggled a little bit and so
4:54
um you know I think it's
4:57
just what's valuable to Nebraska and
5:00
I'll say this for instate recruiting as
5:03
well what's valuable to Nebraska and how
5:06
fans and even we perceive some of these
5:08
Nebraska guys may not be how the rest of
5:12
the country perceives them in terms of
5:15
recruiting NFL draft things like that
5:19
yeah um they just hopefully they get
5:21
some more guys um you know that are
5:23
picked earlier and yeah for sure looking
5:25
ahead to next season I think there might
5:26
be a few um but there's you know Elijah
5:29
Pritchette has been projected as a first
5:30
round pick in the way to early mock
5:32
draft by CBS Sports so you know I'm not
5:34
sure if I'm ready to go that far with it
5:37
um but I mean he has been a 12game
5:39
starter and he's got you know all the
5:41
measurable skills so he definitely has
5:43
the ability there um I think some other
5:46
guys you know Dane Key Se Wright um but
5:50
yeah it's not it's definitely not a
5:51
loaded uh team i think McCulla probably
5:54
can get drafted off of this team um but
5:57
yeah I mean even looking ahead to next
5:58
year right now I I'm struggling to get
6:00
five names that are going to get drafted
6:01
from this uh from this Nebraska team so
6:03
you know we'll see they they definitely
6:05
have to get that talent level upgraded
6:07
if they want to you know get to where
6:10
this team you know wants to get under
6:11
Matt Rule i mean Roco Spindler maybe
6:13
could be another one you know late round
6:15
pick so there could be around four or
6:16
five guys it'd be nice to see some
6:17
others you know emerge i
6:20
mean it might not be impossible for a
6:22
guy like Hinrich Harber to get drafted
6:24
if he has a really good season you know
6:25
with his athletic traits um so who knows
6:28
but um they definitely need to start
6:30
sending more talent to the NFL draft for
6:32
sure i think that that's you know I
6:33
think Matt Rule and and everybody in the
6:35
program would agree with that assessment
6:38
and I think when you look at this class
6:40
for some of these guys they were kind of
6:43
hindered by the lack of Scott Frost
6:47
development the lack of Scott Frost
6:50
indecisiveness and the lack of
6:53
consistency because when Scott Frost had
6:55
Ty Robinson he didn't know what to do
6:56
with him matt Rule came in and really
6:59
really did a nice job of developing
7:02
Robinson and now he was an NFL draft
7:04
pick thomas Pedoni you know that wasn't
7:07
all Scott Frost doing a lot of it was
7:09
injuries too but he was also kind of
7:11
caught in that Scott Frost lack of
7:14
development type of web I guess you
7:17
could say so this draft class um this
7:20
past season was a little bit tricky in
7:22
that way
7:24
yeah and a lot of the guys um they were
7:26
kind of Scott Frost picks most of them
7:28
were um so we'll see how you know that
7:32
continues to develop uh you know moving
7:33
forward um I'm just trying to see if
7:36
Tommy Hills got signed with anybody but
7:38
I don't think that he has at this point
7:41
um though anyway it'll be interesting if
7:43
he if he can get healthy uh he might
7:45
have to go you know work out for
7:47
somebody um but yeah interesting how it
7:50
worked out but Ty Robinson did go ahead
7:52
of Shadur Sanders so that was pretty
7:54
funny how that all kind of planned out
7:56
but um yeah any other thoughts uh
8:00
looking ahead to the 2026 draft or
8:02
looking back on this past weekend
8:04
or I think I think you know this could
8:08
set the stage like we mentioned for
8:10
bigger future drafts um I'm happy with
8:14
what my Patriots did our Patriots did
8:17
and um you know I'm very interested to
8:20
see how quarterback situation works out
8:24
in Cleveland right because you got Dylan
8:25
Gabriel you got Jer Sanders you got
8:29
three other quarterbacks Kenny Picket
8:30
Joe Flacco Deshun Watson so that's an
8:32
interesting storyline
8:35
um I think overall you know the top two
8:39
most drafted conferences from this past
8:41
weekend were the SEC and Big 10 so I
8:44
think as a conference the Big 10 is in a
8:47
really good place right now and some of
8:48
that SEC dominance you know SEC dynasty
8:52
type of feel is gone
8:55
yeah and uh Matt mentioned Matt Rule
8:58
mentioned that with the whole Iowa State
8:59
thing that you know there's most most of
9:02
the players are getting drafted from two
9:03
conferences the Big 10 and the SEC so
9:07
you know you can um but that's the thing
9:09
is like I said you know when when this
9:11
kind of first became a controversy in
9:13
Iowa State people were talking about
9:14
this it's like those I mean good for you
9:16
you're getting good players i think
9:17
they're good players but most of those
9:19
guys don't have the opportunity to come
9:20
to Nebraska so that's why they're on the
9:22
board for Iowa State and if they did
9:24
have the opportunity in Nebraska then to
9:26
go to Nebraska most of them wouldn't
9:28
have chosen Iowa State maybe some but
9:30
it's like just be thankful that you're
9:32
you know picking up our leftovers Iowa
9:34
State because if if we wanted that for
9:35
our main course then you wouldn't be you
9:37
know at the table so let's just leave it
9:39
at that um yeah looking at the Husker
9:42
games this weekend kind of an
9:43
interesting uh take for Nebraska they
9:45
had the scrimmage on Saturday they also
9:48
had all the different events you know
9:49
you had flag football you had some of
9:51
the skills competitions um the the rodeo
9:54
whatever that was i didn't really pay
9:55
attention to much of it i mean I saw
9:57
Dylan had a nice throw on the skills
9:59
competition um you know it's I guess it
10:02
was fun for fans i focused some on the
10:04
football part of it there wasn't you
10:06
know that much out there but what were
10:08
your some of your thoughts on uh I guess
10:10
first from Husker games and then we'll
10:11
talk about the spring as a whole well I
10:14
saw an interception from Tanner Tur
10:16
which made me realize how good of an
10:18
athlete he actually is he was recruited
10:20
as kind of like a wide receiver but I
10:22
feel like he can go to the defensive
10:24
side of the football he played on the
10:25
defensive side of the football in high
10:26
school and um you know you talk about
10:29
kind of these you know underrated but
10:34
talented
10:36
recruits you know Tanner Church could be
10:39
a player that could fall in that
10:42
category yeah and it was good to see
10:44
some of the
10:45
younger quarterbacks uh get time of
10:48
course the volleyball team dominated on
10:50
Saturday night they played four sets
10:52
against Kansas and won all four um so
10:55
you that was kind of fun andy Jackson
10:56
had a really good night um Ryan Hansen
10:59
the freshman did two so it was good to
11:00
see Danny Busman Kelly get a win um
11:02
against Kansas um yeah I mean the the
11:05
Huster games seems like that'll be kind
11:07
of what happens again next year um I
11:10
don't know i'm not that big a fan of it
11:12
i wish they would just play a spring
11:13
game and you know be done with it but
11:15
you know it is what it is I don't think
11:17
it's that big a deal i don't care just
11:19
play the season make sure everybody's
11:20
healthy i don't care if they play Marco
11:23
Polo water polo you know play at the
11:26
Polo grounds play some football in the
11:29
regular season that's all I care about i
11:31
mean we're we're invested in this
11:33
because there's nothing else to talk
11:34
about i mean the fans are going crazy
11:36
because it's not football season yet but
11:38
just get me to the regular season which
11:40
is coming closer we're almost in May now
11:42
so yeah so what are your takeaways from
11:44
the actual spring now spring practices
11:47
you know have concluded what What are
11:48
your thoughts about this team coming out
11:50
of the spring
11:53
this is kind of a trap question isn't it
11:55
because I want to say a nine or 10 win
12:00
team maybe and I know he did this last
12:02
year but when you look at you know like
12:04
the wide receiver room that's what I
12:05
could come back to the wide receiver
12:07
room is absolutely loaded and when you
12:09
look at the defensive side of the
12:13
football and what they brought to the
12:14
table in the secondary I look at the
12:16
secondary and I say man talk about you
12:19
know upgrades from last year i mean you
12:22
look at the secondary it's like a whole
12:23
different unit and so my takeaway from
12:27
this is that this team has the potential
12:30
to be really really good and this team
12:33
has more talent than any Nebraska team
12:36
we've seen in the last oh I don't know
12:38
six years or so so I feel like my main
12:41
takeaway with this is you know Nebraska
12:44
can contend for you know that first
12:49
weekend in December with the Big 10
12:50
Championship
12:52
yeah I think it's I think it's fair to
12:54
say this is the most talent Nebraska's
12:56
had since Bo Pini's been the head coach
12:58
um so you know cuz he they there was a
13:01
lot of dudes just that played for this
13:02
program when Boini was the head coach
13:04
you know like I mean the Levante David
13:07
um you know the the guy that got drafted
13:09
by the Cowboys um Randy Gregory yep yeah
13:13
i mean Amir Abdullah Rex Burkehead
13:15
Taylor Martinez I mean you could go on
13:17
the line prince Mukamura I mean
13:19
Dominican Sue you could go you could go
13:21
pretty far down the list with offensive
13:23
line defensive line linebackers
13:25
secondary even wide receivers i mean you
13:27
had you know guys like Kenny Bell and
13:30
um shoot I'm trying to think of the kind
13:33
of shifty slot receiver that they used
13:35
to uh Western Camp that's not the guy I
13:38
was thinking of exactly but um but yeah
13:40
I mean he had a great career too i mean
13:42
so there's a lot of guys like that that
13:44
just that had good careers and even if
13:45
they didn't get drafted they were you
13:46
know first or second team all Big 10 and
13:49
so that's even beyond the draft picks
13:51
like Nebraska has to start getting guys
13:53
you know that are first team all Big 10
13:54
and first you know second team all Big
13:56
10 because they're just not getting I
13:57
mean last year I'm trying they didn't
14:00
have very many I think what was it Tai
14:01
Robinson got like honorable mention or
14:04
something like it just there wasn't very
14:05
many guys that got that recognition so
14:07
that it seems like kind of a silly thing
14:10
but you know that really does matter and
14:12
the teams that have multiple
14:14
allconerence guys are going to the
14:15
better best bowl games and they're in
14:17
the top 25 so that's what I would like
14:19
to see and I think You know Matt Rule
14:22
said "This is the team I've been waiting
14:23
for and I think they have the team to do
14:25
it." Um if Riola can take a step if that
14:27
offensive line can deliver um I do worry
14:30
a little bit that we you know are over
14:33
um not overhyping but just you know that
14:38
overvaluing our own talent you know like
14:40
uh Dane Key and some of these like maybe
14:42
the receivers aren't quite as good as we
14:44
think they are they're they're better to
14:46
the Look at the draft there you go well
14:49
yeah exactly that's what I'm So like you
14:51
know are we doing that again with this
14:53
team and I mean is it cuz that I keep
14:55
going back to Okay this is this I do
14:57
think that this is a really talented
14:59
team but who are the who are the first
15:01
team all Big 10 selections on this team
15:02
i mean offensively is there one is there
15:05
one you know first team all Big 10 i
15:07
know Elijah Pritchett's been projected
15:08
as a first round pick like is he going
15:10
to be a first team allconerence player
15:11
next year um honestly Jory Barney and uh
15:15
and I wouldn't even think twice about
15:16
saying that like if there's a guy I
15:18
think it would be him
15:20
but I mean first but you're talking I'm
15:21
talking about first team all so you're
15:23
saying Barney is going to be one of the
15:24
top two or three receivers in the entire
15:26
Big 10 i mean Jeremiah Smith and then
15:29
Jakory Bar you know like I don't know if
15:31
utilized properly and not just trotted
15:33
out for end round sweeps then maybe
15:37
yeah potentially um but yeah but defense
15:40
you know the same thing i'm thinking
15:42
like mala maybe right those are the two
15:45
guys I think could compete for it you
15:47
know maybe Vincent Shavers like that
15:48
would be a that would be a revelation if
15:50
he could have a true breakout season and
15:52
be that kind of player because that's
15:53
what Nebraska needs like if if this
15:56
team's going to reach its ceiling this
15:57
season it's it is about Dane Ke and
16:00
those guys but it's also about and
16:02
honestly the the two most important
16:03
players on this team next year probably
16:05
are Dylan Raiola and Vincent Shavers
16:07
because Nebraska needs those two guys to
16:09
become stars they can't just be average
16:11
Joe's they can't be like you know oh
16:13
Dylan Rayola is like a you know seventh
16:15
or eighth best quarterback in the Big 10
16:17
no Dylan Royola needs to be a top three
16:18
quarterback in the Big 10 that's what he
16:20
needs to be if this program is ever
16:22
going to be anything and Vincent Shavers
16:24
you know he doesn't have that same
16:25
pressure but I think he can be the next
16:26
Levante David and that Nebraska just
16:29
needs somebody to become a star because
16:31
they like who was the last star player
16:33
on this defense you know i mean like
16:34
honestly
16:37
h this particular defense or just in
16:39
general just just to for Nebraska who
16:41
was the last star player on defense for
16:43
Nebraska like I just I'm trying to rack
16:46
my mind and I can't really think of one
16:49
over the last seven eight years probably
16:52
Sue and Gregory and that's not even
16:54
seven eight years that's almost 10 years
16:56
ago now yeah so I mean it's I mean there
16:59
was some good guys i mean Jojo Dan was
17:01
good i mean they had some players but
17:03
you know they haven't had but even he
17:05
wasn't like a he wasn't like an
17:06
allconerence dude you know what I mean
17:08
so
17:10
defensive coordinator and honestly
17:14
I was going to say last season but I
17:15
mean Shannando wasn't good white was
17:17
okay i mean scheme was important
17:20
too so you know they just need uh they
17:23
need they need some of those star
17:24
players to uh you know start start
17:27
developing start hitting those uh you
17:30
know hitting that ceiling I guess and I
17:32
think that I think they do really have a
17:34
chance you know EMTT Johnson I think can
17:36
be a really good player isaiah I'm as
17:38
excited about Naiah Hunter as I am about
17:40
uh Dane Key i think he gets a little
17:42
lost in the mix sometimes with uh you
17:45
know Cortez Mills and and Jacory Barney
17:47
and then Dane Key and it's like don't
17:48
forget about Na Hunter he might be the
17:50
best receiver on this team you know like
17:52
honestly um so you know I I do think
17:56
there are reasons to be excited but I am
17:58
worried that maybe you know we're over
18:00
just overestimating the talent on this
18:02
roster a little bit compared to you know
18:04
the Ohio States and Penn States and
18:06
Oregon of the world well yeah there's a
18:09
reason why you just mentioned those top
18:10
three i mean Ohio State's coming off a
18:12
national championship penn State is a
18:14
more is a more not relevant brand right
18:19
now but K I think Penn State right now
18:22
matters more to kids as a brand than
18:23
Nebraska does and then Oregon obviously
18:26
they just have a ton of cash so that
18:29
matters too and um you know who knows if
18:34
Nebraska will be will ever be able to
18:36
get there in modern college football but
18:38
I do like the way that this program is
18:40
set up for the future
18:42
yeah hopefully we'll see uh we'll see
18:44
how it goes i mean Dylan Ryland needs to
18:45
become a star this season like that's
18:47
just you know he was he was pretty good
18:50
last year i think he was better than
18:51
people give him credit for i know he had
18:53
games where he didn't have touchdowns
18:55
you know whatever he was a freshman but
18:57
this year really needs to take that big
18:58
leap and if he does um then watch out
19:01
because I think that this team you know
19:03
could really be a top 25 you know
19:06
playoff type contender don't I don't
19:07
think they're in the mix for you know
19:10
Big 10 championships or national
19:11
championships or anything like that but
19:13
I think they can be a borderline uh
19:15
playoff team if everything goes right
19:16
this year so that's uh and nothing
19:19
nothing I saw this spring change that at
19:20
all yeah no I feel like we're in a very
19:23
good spot this spring and um you know
19:26
I'm I'm just excited to see how things
19:28
get going on the defensive side of
19:29
football john Butler you know his first
19:32
full season I liked what I saw in the
19:34
bowl game um especially given how you
19:37
know little time he had to prep in
19:39
comparison to to like a um like a full
19:44
off season of installing his system so
19:47
I'm interested to see how that all plays
19:50
out and how he utilizes his defenders
19:53
and how he brings you know different
19:56
pass rushers on on certain downs and
19:58
things like that so I'm actually excited
20:01
for what he brings
20:03
yeah I think uh I think John Butler's
20:04
going to be um an upgrade for sure um so
20:08
let's uh we'll wrap it up here we got
20:10
some recruiting stuff a little bit um
20:12
not a ton of things on the recruiting
20:13
trail for this weekend but there were
20:15
some key guys on campus uh Trey Taylor's
20:17
one uh Jordan Campbell the linebacker
20:20
from Miami I think Dayton Dayton Rayola
20:22
was back on campus um Jason Reynolds I
20:25
believe was back on campus there was a
20:26
few others but um what are what are some
20:28
of the other Am I missing any other
20:30
headlines from recruiting
20:33
oh yeah for sure oklahoma kids uh
20:37
fourstar Oklahoma kids there was another
20:39
one too um
20:43
but overall a lot of talent this weekend
20:46
um they were able to come out and see
20:48
what the program is all about and this
20:50
is this is kind of just another sign
20:53
that Nebraska is continuing to you know
20:56
hone in on a specific area and follow up
20:59
with some key targets i'll tell you what
21:01
I really like and I've said this before
21:03
but I really like Jordan Campbell and
21:05
the fact that he keeps coming away
21:06
impressed with Nebraska is a positive
21:08
sign yeah he said uh basically again
21:11
it's you know he's committed to Miami
21:12
and he said he's kind of thinking about
21:14
Nebraska and Miami so I think that that
21:16
definitely is a good sign for Nebraska
21:18
the fact that he's you know consider
21:20
seriously considering a flip and that
21:21
he's visited you know multiple times um
21:24
and then yeah getting Trey Taylor back I
21:26
thought was really important um you know
21:30
he seems to be ve he's been very active
21:32
in his recruitment and I don't think
21:34
this visit um you know was an accident
21:36
and Nebraska's really made him a top
21:38
priority he's 35th overall in the 2027
21:41
class um in the 247 sports composite
21:44
rankings so um yeah let's go we'll just
21:47
ask this question Danny do you think
21:48
that uh with May May 1st coming up here
21:51
on Thursday do you think that Nebraska
21:53
will win the Trey Taylor sweep stakes
21:56
yes by by all accounts yes um I feel
22:00
like he came last weekend as well to do
22:02
a little bit of recruiting on his own so
22:05
I feel like yes Nebraska or Trey Taylor
22:08
will be a member of the program by
22:10
Thursday
22:12
yeah I agree right now if I had to you
22:14
know if I had a crystal ball or whatever
22:15
I would put it in for Trey Taylor um
22:18
things can happen you never know what'll
22:19
happen between now and Thursday um
22:21
you've got LSU Texas A&M out there
22:24
Illinois but uh I feel pretty confident
22:27
that Nebraska is going to get this done
22:29
and that would be you know that would be
22:30
a massive commitment i know people get
22:32
like roll their eyes like oh it's 27
22:34
quarterback but that's you got to get
22:35
these guys in the fold early and Trey
22:37
Taylor I mean he's a big- time kid
22:39
nebraska getting a top 40 quarterback
22:42
like that dylan Rail is the only one in
22:44
the last two decades so if they get
22:45
another one like within that'd be two
22:48
top 40 quarterbacks within four
22:50
recruiting cycles that's that's the type
22:52
of quarterback recruiting Nebraska's
22:54
literally never seen outside of like
22:56
when they were recruiting option
22:57
quarterbacks in Tommy Frasier and they
22:58
were getting some of the best option
22:59
quarterbacks in the country so that
23:01
Tommy Frasier guy was pretty good too so
23:03
yeah but like but really Nebraska hasn't
23:06
got quarterbacks of this caliber and
23:08
they never throw style quarterbacks of
23:10
this caliber before like you know that
23:11
was the Tommy Fraser was was them like
23:14
getting this caliber quarterback that's
23:15
that's a option guy you know because
23:17
that kind of used to be a thing 20 years
23:19
20 30 years ago you had your pro style
23:21
quarterback and then the dual threat
23:22
type and they've kind of got rid of that
23:24
so um Trey Taylor would be a huge get
23:27
and that would like that would just set
23:29
the quarterback room up so perfectly for
23:31
the next you know hell five six seven
23:34
years I mean they they would be set at
23:35
quarterback probably till 2030 if they
23:37
get Trey Taylor and when you look at you
23:40
know He's from Illinois so that would be
23:42
a big recruiting win in the Midwest and
23:44
I think that's important too to kind of
23:46
you know dip your toes and win battles
23:47
there because you know Illinois has a
23:50
lot of talent chicago has a lot of
23:51
talent um in particular but yeah getting
23:54
Trey Taylor I mean that would be
23:56
absolutely massive so I'm confident you
23:58
know like you said nothing's a guarantee
24:00
and a lot can change between now and
24:01
Thursday but I'm confident with where
24:03
Nebraska stands with Trey Taylor
24:06
all right you guys well we'll wrap it up
24:08
uh here with our Monday episode there
24:10
will be back either Wednesday or
24:12
Thursday for another broadcast so before
24:13
the Trey Taylor commitment then we'll
24:15

24:17
