“Time To Clean Filter” On My Smart Thermostat Display

“Change Filter” or “time to clean filter” is displayed on my thermostat and I just changed the air filter. Maybe my thermostat says “change filter” and it doesn’t even really know if I even have a filter. So in other words, my furnace doesnt know that my thermostat says clean filter.
