Zuppa Toscana Recipe 🥣
Ingredients:
1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy), casings removed
1 large onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
3-4 medium potatoes (about 1 pound), peeled and diced into small cubes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 bunch kale, tough stems removed and leaves chopped (about 4 cups chopped)
1 cup heavy cream
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Crusty bread, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
Brown the Sausage: In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, cook the Italian sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it into smaller pieces with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the cooked sausage from the pot and set aside.
