Penne all'Arrabbiata (Spicy Tomato Sauce) 🌹
Ingredients:
12 ounces (340g) penne pasta
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Salt to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
Prepare the Sauce:
While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and just starting to turn golden, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
