Ingredients π±π₯
4 cups all-purpose flour πΎ
1/4 cup granulated sugar π
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet) π§
1 1/4 teaspoons salt π§
2/3 cup warm water (about 110Β°F or 45Β°C) π§
1/3 cup vegetable oil πΏ
2 large eggs π₯ (plus 1 egg yolk for brushing)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) πΏ
Poppy seeds or sesame seeds for topping (optional) πΏ

Activate Yeast π§π§
In a small bowl, dissolve 1 tablespoon of sugar in the warm water. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Mix Dough πΎπ₯
In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract (if using).
