Sailor Brings Cousin To Tears Of Joy When He Surprises Her At Quinceanera
Dec 30, 2025
A teenager was brought to tears when her sailor cousin returned home from deployment to surprise her on the dance floor at her quinceañera. As the two oldest grandchildren in their family, ChrisTorres, 22, and Alex Caba, 15, share an incredibly close bond, their family members said. Chris sees Alexa more like a little sister, and so when Alexa was planning her quinceañera, he knew he wanted to be at home in New Jersey for the big occasion. The 22-year-old joined the United States Navy in 2021, and having last seen Alexa more than a year and a half before her quinceañera, Chris then headed off on a 10-month deployment on the on the USS Carl Vinson. But when he received the news that he would be home around a week before the big day, Chris started planning a surprise with his mom Evelyn, 42, and a few of Alexa's family members. On September 27, the day of Alexa's quinceañera, Chris snuck into Adelphia Restaurant & Events, in Deptford, New Jersey, where he waited for his cue. Then, right before the changing of Alexa's shoes and the special family dances, Chris was called to the dance floor, where Alexa was standing. The teenager immediately covered her mouth in shock, before bawling tears of happiness as her cousin gave her an emotional reunion hug.
