Dave Bennett grows the world's heaviest aubergine

This is the heaviest aubergine which weighs 3.778 kilograms and was grown by Dave Bennett

Dave grows giant fruit and veg as a hobby and has been growing giant aubergines over the past four

years. The average weight for a typical shop-bought aubergine is around 3 to 400 grams

making this record holder more than 10 times larger than the average. Previous to this record, Dave had grown an aubergine that was 2.54 kilograms in 2022

He used the seeds from that aubergine to grow this record-breaking one. My name is Ivan Hankins, I'm the weights and measures inspector that
