Respected Historical Figures Who Were Actually Pretty Awful

Sometimes, the figures that history holds in high regard are actually awful people. Maybe they did manage to do great things but gradually slipped into more unpleasant things over the years, or maybe their good deeds were exaggerated to make them seem like more of a hero than they were, but it's undeniable that these historical figures aren't exactly great role models.
