what's up ladies and gentlemen this is
0:01
David Benjamin from WellStar reviews and
0:03
healthy wildf free in this video today
0:05
I'm going to be reviewing the
0:06
LG uh laundry machine which is a direct
0:10
drive inverter laundry machine and
0:12
there's a reason I have a hat and a shoe
0:15
here and different
0:17
um laundry products which I'll explain
0:20
because uh I've done some testing with
0:22
this machine and you're going to learn
0:24
some cool things so first things first
0:26
uh this washing machine has the
0:28
technology it really has everything that
0:30
you could want in a washing machine um
0:32
the direct drive motor technology gives
0:35
you increased durability uh because
0:37
there's fewer moving Parts in the actual
0:40
um unit itself and this causes less wear
0:43
and tear on the motor and on the machine
0:45
uh it's very quiet it's very low noise
0:48
uh it's the there's not a lot of
0:50
vibration or shaking which is nice um
0:52
it's very energy efficient and the
0:54
inverter technology has this thing
0:56
called adaptive speed control which
0:58
basically just changes the speed
1:00
based on the cycle that it's in and uh
1:03
this basically optimizes the washing
1:06
cycle which is really nice the Energy
1:08
savings are great because uh your washer
1:10
and dryer are two of the most energy
1:12
exhaustive uh appliances in your home um
1:15
it's got great performance overall it
1:18
has a six motion Drive technology so
1:21
that is tumbling rolling scrubbing
1:22
swinging
1:24
filtration and then uh stepping which is
1:26
detangling and dewrinkling uh the smart
1:29
features on it it has an AI direct drive
1:32
in it uh which actually helps to adjust
1:36
the wash pattern uh it has a smart
1:38
diagnosis which troubles shoots issues
1:41
in the LG app so you can just download
1:44
the uh LG app and that allows you to do
1:47
that uh and then additionally um you
1:51
know you have Wi-Fi and app control
1:52
obviously as well um it has Steam and
1:54
hygiene features so it has a steam wash
1:56
to remove allergens bacteria and odors
1:59
it has a turbo wash feature um allergy
2:02
Care uh it has a oh this is really cool
2:04
it has a auto restart feature so if the
2:06
power goes out it actually Auto restarts
2:08
itself which is really cool turbo wash
2:11
um which is like super strong and I'll
2:14
show you why you should be careful with
2:16
that setting uh because I um yeah well
2:20
you'll see and then it has allergy Care
2:23
as well which is kind of nice and then
2:25
uh load sensing adjusts based on the
2:28
levels and the weight in the unit so
2:30
that creates Energy Efficiency both with
2:32
energy and with water usage um so you
2:35
know water and energy usage are nice so
2:38
um you know this model has really
2:40
everything you could want so if I hit
2:41
the start button here you can see that
2:43
it has all these different modes it has
2:46
uh the steam cycle cotton normal heavy
2:48
duty bulk large bright white sanitary
2:51
allergen and then the turbo clean right
2:54
and then it has the jumbo wash towels
2:56
perm press hand washing wool delicates
2:59
Speed Wash small load so all that you do
3:01
is spin this and then you PR press play
3:04
or pause here now uh over here you have
3:07
uh the settings it's showing and the
3:09
digital screen and then the time it's
3:11
going to take and then you just hit play
3:12
and it start so it's pretty simple
3:14
pretty easy to use um you load
3:17
the uh detergent right here so that goes
3:21
in right there which um there is some in
3:24
there right now I don't know why but
3:26
there is so that goes in there your
3:28
pre-wash as well and then uh the big
3:31
thing here so the big sort of claim with
3:33
this unit um is that it's mold free and
3:36
I'm going to show you something that the
3:39
manufacturer might not want you to see
3:41
but before I do um I want you to know
3:43
that this machine is very strong and
3:45
very effective and the reason for that
3:46
is because I had this hat in my car the
3:49
other day and it was pretty faded from
3:50
the Sun and other things and I thought
3:52
well I'll just throw it in the wash and
3:55
I threw it in the wash and it came out
3:57
and this p pattern on the top started to
4:01
shred and then this completely ripped
4:04
and I guess plastic is in the middle of
4:06
these hats I did not know that but uh
4:09
that was not even on the turbo CLE that
4:12
was on the heavy duty so this is not
4:14
even the strongest setting and it
4:16
literally ripped and shredded the hat so
4:18
this washing machine is very strong you
4:20
have to be careful with it um so you
4:22
know that's good to know if you're
4:23
putting hats in there I did I also wash
4:25
shoes so a lot of people don't do this I
4:26
wash my shoes because I like to have
4:29
clean shoes and I put these shoes in
4:31
there these zero Barefoot Minimalist
4:33
Shoes and they came out clean and
4:34
there's no stitching uh coming off no
4:37
issues like that that little faded paint
4:39
was already there before um and they
4:41
came out very clean and very nice so um
4:44
you know I guess I would just say be
4:45
careful of what you throw in this
4:46
washing machine because it is it is very
4:48
strong and it is very effective and you
4:50
have to be aware of that now the thing
4:52
that you need to know is that this
4:54
machine down here uh this is a nice
4:56
feature as well the hamper here you can
4:58
throw towels and things in there so it's
4:59
a nice little storage area which I do
5:02
really like that actually it's really
5:03
nice uh and then it just kind of
5:05
positions the washer and you know dryer
5:07
higher which allows you to you know do
5:11
your laundry easier you don't have to
5:12
always be bending over which is kind of
5:14
nice uh and then you know the real sort
5:16
of claim to fame with this feature is
5:18
this thing right here now this is a uh
5:21
little drawer right here that um you
5:23
pull it out and then there's this little
5:25
uh silicone tube in here and when you
5:28
pull that out you got to be careful
5:30
you just pull that right out and it's
5:33
it's
5:35
uh like this you pull this out and then
5:38
this at the end here has a little cap
5:41
okay you pull that off and then it just
5:43
starts leaking water and you do this
5:46
about once a month or so um and the
5:50
reason for that is because this is what
5:54
the company claims this is what LG
5:56
claims by removing this water you are
6:00
going to have a mold free washing
6:02
machine now as you can see there's a lot
6:04
of water that's in here it just drains
6:06
out and uh it goes into the bucket here
6:09
so you want to make sure that you have a
6:10
bucket now the thing I want you to see
6:12
is
6:13
this water in moisture is retained in
6:17
really all washing machines and as you
6:20
can see it's still still draining still
6:24
draining and there it go so it wasn't a
6:27
lot it's actually emptied less than a
6:29
week ago you just about once a month but
6:30
then you just plug this back up so you
6:32
can kind of you know really get it out
6:35
there and then you just plug this back
6:37
up like
6:39
this and put it in there so you want to
6:41
do this this is sort of a maintenance
6:43
thing on this washing machine so you
6:44
close that to ensure that no water gets
6:48
out of there and then you put it back in
6:49
there and close it up and I'll do that
6:50
later but um what I want you to see is
6:52
this because that's you know this is
6:55
they say that there's going to be no
6:57
mold in the washing machine but this is
6:59
what I want want you to see when you
7:00
open the washing machine here and I want
7:02
you to do this on this washing machine
7:03
Any washing machine you're going to have
7:06
mold okay it's just a given let me show
7:09
you now if you open the washing machine
7:11
everything looks fine in here this is
7:13
where the mold lies take this flap pull
7:16
it
7:18
back and you got mold all day in there
7:22
black mold black mold
7:26
okay that is just going to happen
7:30
um so you know this rubber area in the
7:33
machine although it's sort of out of the
7:35
machine like the actual unit is in here
7:38
um you know when it's closed with this
7:40
door here that mold is still going to
7:42
get in your clothing so you want to be
7:44
sure to you know up this flap clean that
7:48
mold out get it clean and uh keep your
7:52
machine clean um there are things you
7:54
can do you know there's more in here as
7:56
you can see um you can you know pull
7:58
this flap out and just clean your
8:00
machine routinely but you're still going
8:01
to get mold in your washing machine so
8:04
you know as cool as this feature is here
8:06
and I like it um it's not an it's not an
8:09
end all Beall to keeping mold out of
8:12
your washing machine unfortunately um so
8:15
just keep that in mind uh because it is
8:18
you know kind of
8:20
a uh a misnomer that oh it's going to
8:22
all be mold free because you know of
8:25
this little tube here at the bottom well
8:27
that's just not the case unfortunately
8:28
and now it doesn't want to go back in
8:31
and it's being difficult because you
8:33
know there we go so that closes up but
8:35
that is a nice feature I will say um to
8:37
empty the moisture and the water out of
8:40
your washing machine uh but you're still
8:41
going to get mold in here what I would
8:44
recommend personally is uh
8:47
to not use chemicalized detergents and
8:51
the reason for that is because you are
8:53
going to inhale these detergents and
8:55
they get on your skin and they get in
8:57
your clothing and then you breathe them
8:58
into lungs and then with what on your
8:59
skin gets into your body I use this
9:01
really great detergent um it's from a
9:04
company called Oma Organics it's got
9:05
like coconut ginger soapnut amla ginger
9:08
melon pineapple zeolite clay Tha lime
9:11
and guava Leaf it's literally the
9:13
cleanest most natural La detergent you
9:15
could possibly use you use a very small
9:16
amount of it it's like this is a pound
9:18
and you use like you know a little
9:20
little bit each time as opposed to a
9:21
whole cup of like a big EOS like that
9:23
which isn't really as natural as they
9:25
say um so I do recommend this and use
9:28
this and I'll put that below uh also
9:29
just throwing some salt um I'll just
9:32
throw some salt in the washing machine
9:34
especially with whites uh that's how I
9:36
got this hat wider I'll do with shoes or
9:39
you know like a whites load that also
9:41
helps to sort of deodorize and sanitize
9:43
your washing machine as well but um you
9:45
know really what it comes down to is uh
9:48
you know the technology the energy
9:50
saving efficiency of the LG machine is
9:53
fantastic I love that I love that it's
9:56
quiet I love that has a auto restart
9:57
feature you can connect to an app all
9:58
that kind of stuff
10:00
uh I do like this feature here to remove
10:02
the water here so that you have less
10:03
mold but you're still going to have mold
10:05
in your washing machine it's just kind
10:06
of a given so what you really have to do
10:08
is clean your washing machine and be
10:10
very Vigilant um and diligent with you
10:13
know just cleaning your washing machine
10:15
overall but uh other than that I mean
10:17
your LG here the direct drive inverter
10:21
uh I mean the amount of options you have
10:24
as you can see for cleaning is topnotch
10:27
and the auto sensing calibration with
10:30
the app you know connecting to Wi-Fi
10:32
Auto starting after power outage um you
10:35
know all of these options are really
10:37
just exceptional and it gives you a lot
10:39
of Versatility so it is a great washing
10:42
machine and the reason I show this with
10:44
you the reason I show you this mold here
10:46
down here is because like really all
10:48
washing machines are going to get mold
10:49
in here so don't even though this is a
10:51
cool feature you know removing the water
10:53
there don't buy into the hype and make
10:55
sure to still clean your washing machine
10:56
because uh you know you're going to have
10:58
these things you're going to deal with
11:00
those things regardless so anyways with
11:02
that being said I hope you enjoyed this
11:03
review I hope it makes helps it uh make
11:06
a better purchasing decision for you uh
11:09
I think it is worth it I just think you
