Hi everyone! I've gotten some requests to do a hair routine video, so I thought I would do one showing you guys how I take care and style my hair
0:06
In the shower, I like using a hydrating shampoo and a scalp massager to cleanse my hair and scalp
0:12
A tool like this is really good for increasing blood circulation to promote hair growth
0:16
I do circular motions gently all over my head, making sure to get everywhere
0:20
Another reason I use this is to make sure I'm not scratching my scalp with my fingernails when I wash my hair
0:26
After shampooing, I make sure to rinse my hair thoroughly so that no soap is left and then I go in with conditioner
0:32
I only use about this much. And I rub that all into the ends of my hair
0:38
While I let the conditioner marinate, I go ahead and wash the rest of my body
0:42
Then I'll rinse my hair one more time, making sure that everything is nice and clean
0:46
Next, I'll dry my hair gently and brush through it with my bamboo brush
0:50
I heard it's not good to brush your hair when it's wet because your hair is more fragile
0:54
but I just have to brush it after the shower. If I don't, my hair just feels really tangled and messy
1:00
For styling, I'll usually blow dry my hair about 80% of the way, and I use medium heat on the highest fan setting
1:07
I like to blow dry my hair upside down because I find that this gives me the most volume at the roots
1:13
I also like to direct the air in the opposite direction of my hair for even more volume And as you can see my hair gets super big And because my hair was flying all over the place I just like to brush through the ends one more time Now I just sectioning the top half of my hair
1:27
and putting it into a clip. Then it's time to take out this bad boy
1:33
This is the Revlon One Step round brush dryer that I've used for forever. But actually at the time I'm recording this voiceover
1:39
I just got the Dyson Airwrap for Christmas. So if you guys want another hairstyling video
1:43
using the Dyson, let me know in the comments. I'm going to start out by running the brush through my
1:48
hair a couple of times to finish drying it and I make sure that I wrap the strand starting near
1:52
the root so that the entire section of hair gets dry. Then on the third pass, I'll wrap the strand
1:57
like normal but when I get to the end, I'll use tension and twist the ends of my hair away from
2:01
my face to create that soft, effortless blowout curl. And when I feel like the ends are curled
2:08
enough, I'll turn the brush on the cool setting to set the curl. I continue the same twisting motion
2:14
and let the hair sort of slide off the end of the brush, creating that soft, beautiful curl
2:23
Then I'll just repeat this for the entire left side. I like starting with the pieces in the back
2:27
so that when I'm done with them, I can just throw them behind me and they don't get tangled in the
2:30
front pieces And again you want to use tension so that the hair can get properly curled And this movement takes some practice so if you find this difficult just keep trying and you get the hang of it Just look at that difference Crazy For the right side it the same thing I run the brush through a few times to make sure my hair is completely dry
2:48
Then on the last pass, I'll start turning the brush away from my face to curl the ends
2:52
Again, using tension to get that smooth finish. I give the curl a cold shock to set it and then start twisting the strand downward and I get the perfect curl every time
3:06
I honestly don't know if this is the way most people use this brush, but I found that
3:10
this technique gives me the bounciest blowouts that last all day. And boom, we're halfway done
3:26
Now I'll clip back the bottom half so it's out of the way and work on the top section
3:31
saving my bangs for last. I brush through it a couple times to get everything straight and then continue the same motion I've been doing starting in the back
3:39
And I usually have less hair in my top section, so this part goes by a lot quicker
3:44
But in total, styling my hair from start to finish only takes me about 15 minutes and it looks amazing
3:50
I used to not do anything with my hair and just wear it air dried. But doing my hair often specifically blowouts just gives me so much confidence and I feel so ready to take on the day For these top sections near the front I also like to wrap the strands up and away from my head rather than from the side just to give me an extra volume boost at this point my bangs have dried completely so i just like to re them
4:17
for easier styling then i'll just take the blow dryer brush and wrap my bangs around it going
4:22
forward. I don't really have a specific method for this, but I just do it a couple times until
4:27
I'm satisfied with them. I got bangs a few months ago and I've been trying to grow them out because
4:33
I think styling them every day is a bit inconvenient and they don't always cooperate, but on days when
4:38
they actually do what I want them to do, they look pretty good. After that, I take out my clips and
4:43
just play around with my bangs, positioning them in the right spot. I kind of spend a lot of time
4:48
on this part, but it's funny because no matter how perfect I make them look, the wind just messes
4:52
everything up when I go outside. And that's pretty much how I style my hair. Sometimes if it's looking
4:58
a little dry, I'll put on some hair oil. This is a little sample I got from Jisoo that I've been
5:02
using. I just use a couple drops and run it through the ends, making sure I'm gentle so I don't brush
5:07
off the curls too much. And this is the finished hair. It's the perfect, soft, effortless blowout
5:14
that's so easy and makes it look like you spent hours styling it. Thank you guys so much for
5:19
watching and I'll see you next time
