All right, I think we are live right now. Yep, I can see.
0:11
Okay. Hi everyone, it's Global Scholarships and I'm your host AZ. I hope you're all doing well. I hope
0:16
everything is going great. And today, as always, uh hang on. Okay. Uh as always, we are here with
0:23
another weekly live stream. If you're new here, we do this every Friday. Uh but today you won't be able to see me
0:30
because of a technical uh issue. So I don't I I hope that I think I hope that
0:36
that won't be an issue all that much. Uh we're still going to um we're still
0:43
going to like answer your questions, do all the Q&A stuff, and we'll see
0:48
scholarships that are currently open, etc. What are the opportunities? Hi there, Sesan Neiha. Welcome to our live
0:55
stream. Hi there, Matt. Uh hi, it's great to see you all here. Uh as I said,
1:02
today we won't be like you won't be able to see me uh because of a kind of like technical issue. So if you're new here,
1:08
I think uh both of you are kind of new. I don't uh remember you from our
1:14
previous live streams. We are global scholarships.com. Uh we're a platform that that is like
1:21
that shares a lot of informative stuff about scholarships uh about studying abroad that sort of thing. We have a
1:27
platform we have a YouTube channel, we have a platform, we have a website that is completely free to use. As you can
1:33
see there is no like pricing, there's no create a an account or register
1:39
something like that. You can just go to globalcolarships.com right now and get all the information that we have about
1:45
scholarships. What information do we have about scholarships? We have a lot. We have like scholarships by type, by
1:51
degree, uh by country. We have um guides about cheap and free universities. We
1:58
have guides about countries. Uh we have guides about English taught universities. A lot of there are a lot
2:04
of people who want to study in let's say Japan, in Germany and non-English-speaking countries, but like
2:11
they cannot. Hi there, Neo Penguin. It's great to see you again as always here. uh but they do not know the language or
2:18
they they don't think they can learn the language in time uh to be able to go and
2:24
study there. Uh so that yeah you might be interested in those. Um and country
2:30
guides are also really good. Uh you can just go there. Basically these are kind of like collections of guides that we
2:36
have for a specific country. Uh if you're interested in any one of these you can just click on them. And it's we
2:43
have we have like pretty much every single subject that you will be you want
2:51
to get information about uh studying in another country from like the education,
2:57
how to choose a university, best programs, uh applying to a university, documents, tests, language tests. Um
3:05
sometimes they can be different in different countries. uh financing of course uh how to get visa
3:13
but open scholarships etc etc. Yeah, there's a lot of information to be found
3:19
in here. We also do have scholarship stories. That's something. Hi there,
3:25
Kuropo. It's great to see you as always. We also have scholarship stories. That's
3:30
something we really like. Uh basically, these are stories of people who have got
3:36
like who have earned very popular scholarships, very generous scholarships. You can just click here at
3:44
all stories. All right. And then as you can see we have a lot of
3:49
people here and we are adding more and more all the time. Uh for example you
3:55
can get information here like where like what degree were there uh at like what
4:01
country they are in uh what type of scholarship for example this person has
4:07
got international scholars award in Toronto Arasmus Mundus etc. You can also
4:13
like kind of uh use our filter to find let's say you are interested in um let's
4:19
say you're interested in Germany right Germany does not have a lot of scholarships but they do have an
4:25
excellent uh government scholarship called DAD as you can see a lot of these people are u like a winners like they
4:35
got the scholarship and you can click on any one of them uh to like read about their stories their journey journey like
4:43
learn about the scholarship, how they prepared, what what is their educational background, um etc etc.
4:51
Also one another great thing about uh our scholarship stories is that a lot of
4:56
them also include like ways to contact these people for example uh they can you
5:02
can contact this person uh through their LinkedIn if you want to get more information directly from people who has
5:09
gotten the scholarships. So, I think that's a great idea. Um, like when it
5:15
comes to scholarships, there are kind of smaller scholarships like partial scholarships. Um, and a lot of those
5:22
scholarships unfortunately goes to waste because not enough people know about
5:27
them. Uh, hi there. Hi there, uh, Neon Penguin. It's great to see you. I hope
5:33
you're doing well. Uh, not enough people know about those scholarships to apply
5:38
to them. So like they like not enough people get them like not uh enough not
5:44
as many as they have kodas. Uh but when it comes to like big scholarships
5:50
usually they are extremely competitive because they they provide a lot of
5:55
value. How Pakistan student can apply for scholarships. Hi there. Um, so you
6:01
need to be a little bit more specific about that if you want uh like specific answers because usually
6:09
I can see you. I can see your message. Uh,
6:14
this is a big message. I can see your normal message. Hi, hey. Uh, if that's
6:22
what you mean. Is there any website where we can apply? So uh Huma
6:28
normally your uh your nationality does not really matter
6:34
all that much when it comes to how uh you apply to scholarships. There are some scholarships uh for example like
6:41
some government scholarships that has kodas that has different procedures um like Japanese government scholarships
6:47
different uh procedures according to like depending on your nationality but
6:53
usually it does not really matter. Uh let's by the way uh since we are on that topic let's see our search tool. This is
7:00
our free search tool for finding scholarships. Uh you can type in anything that you are interested. Could
7:06
be a country, could be a nationality. I don't think I've ever tried that. Okay.
7:12
Yeah. No, you cannot search for nationality. Uh you can search for a country. Uh or if you don't have
7:18
anything in mind and just want to see what scholarships we have, we can just hit enter.
7:24
Basically, we have about like 4,000 5,000 scholarships in our database.
7:29
These are scholarships given by the universities to newcoming international students. Uh you can filter here. For
7:36
example, you can filter for nationality. Let's choose Pakistan here. Um
7:44
yeah. So as you can see we have about 4,500 scholarships in total in our
7:49
database and about 4,200 of those are available for Pakistani students. That's
7:55
because usually most scholarships are available to any nationality. Uh there are some scholarships obviously
8:02
specifically for uh Pakistani students. Um but other than that usually doesn't
8:08
really matter. Your nationality doesn't really matter. Um would you like to say anything about this specific question?
8:14
uh like perhaps there is something that there there are some insights you might want to give about like that
8:20
specifically uh that is for Pakistani students.
8:30
They also say they completed their MSE in in organic chemistry. I want to apply
8:35
for further studies. Which do you think country is more suitable for?
8:41
Um um I don't see the question. Where's the question?
8:49
Oh. Um hang on. Is there something wrong with the connection? I wonder. It's Huma
8:56
Inel in I think that's the uh the person asked the question.
9:03
Um I'm not sure why you cannot see it.
9:11
Also, Neon Penguin has asked I can see the question. There might be an issue
9:17
with the chat. Uh, can you see any questions right now?
9:22
Uh, I do about the University of Southampton, but maybe
9:28
I should just refresh. Okay. Oh, I think I see it now.
9:35
All right. So it's about uh inorganic chemistry.
9:41
Yeah. Okay. Um yeah. So I think we get questions
9:47
about specific countries every single week and the answer I always give is
9:53
that there is no actual best country to pursue scholarships per se uh for a
10:02
specific nationality. Um although uh some countries are more friendly
10:09
towards international students than others but you just need to find the list of those countries rather than
10:17
um countries that are specific for your nationality. So for example if you take
10:24
um Germany or the Netherlands as an example
10:29
it would uh apply to all students from all nationalities. it wouldn't apply to
10:35
a specific one. Um, yeah. So, if you're looking for a
10:41
master's uh to study a masters, generally
10:47
uh Europe has free tuition. Um, but if you can't afford anything and
10:52
you're looking for fully funded scholarships, um, then I would suggest going for um,
11:01
government scholarships like the the AAD or the Cheving or the uh, Eiffel
11:08
Excellence scholarship uh, dependent on the country. So once you apply to those,
11:14
they have specific criteria. For example, the Jebn would require that you get unconditional offers from uh two or
11:22
three universities in the UK. So that is the criterion. Um that is the most important. So you
11:29
would need to apply to a few universities in the UK and then once you
11:35
get your offers provided that some of them are unconditional you qualify for
11:41
the scholarship. Of course, there is another criterion that is uh having work experience of I think over 2,000 hours
11:50
uh that you need to meet. But I think that is the the least demanding one uh if you
12:00
look at the other criteria. So it is harder to get unconditional offers from
12:05
universities than it is to get work experience of 2,000 hours in the last
12:10
two years. Um
12:18
yeah yeah yeah of course you can you can ask any questions and the more specific they are the better because right now
12:26
trying to narrow down um countries from a big list is really
12:33
not feasible. Uh it depends on you as a person because we talk about this every week as well.
12:40
When it comes to going to a new country, there are challenges that come with each one. So for example, if you're going to
12:46
France, you'd need to learn French. If you need to, if you want to go to Italy,
12:52
you need to learn Italian. Although most programs are offered in English, there
12:58
is this element of learning that country's language in order to overcome a lot of things. So if you see that
13:05
you're more interested in English-speaking countries um then that is a separate option but if
13:14
you're looking for other countries uh each country comes with specific challenges and specific requirements
13:22
uh and that is why it's hard to actually narrow it down from a huge list and talk
13:28
about each country individually. Uh it would rather
13:34
be beneficial if or it would be better if you just have a list of countries in mind and we can try
13:42
to compare and contrast those countries and what their merits are and what the
13:50
uh drawbacks are as well. Uh so yeah. Okay. Thank you very much. Um guys you
13:58
don't need to ask the same question uh again again and again uh like when we
14:03
are busy with a question after we are done with that I'm trying to go uh like
14:09
by the order the questions are asked yes uh you can ask your questions here um or
14:17
you can ask them in our um comment section in any one of our videos we do
14:23
our best to answer all of them I think one of the best places you can ask is to Matt I like we'll get your question in a
14:30
second. Um so best one of the best places is that for example if you're interested in a school and you want to
14:36
ask about that school let's say you want to learn more about Harvard right you
14:41
can just search that and we do have pages for a lot of universities and at
14:47
the bottom if you scroll down as you can see uh we have a comment section and if you leave your comment here without any
14:54
like registry or anything else he answers every single question here as
14:59
you can see is the founder of global scholarships. So like this is the best pretty much the best place to uh leave
15:06
your question but uh you can also leave as a comment in our comment section or
15:12
you can come to our live streams. We are here every pretty much every Friday. Uh so yeah. Okay. So after uh Muma's
15:20
question there were uh it was neon penguin
15:25
UK university named University of Southampton opened their new campus in India near my house. Can you tell me
15:31
some scholarships they ensure Russell group degree? Uh let me see if there was
15:37
a follow-up. Uh it was pretty much the same.
15:43
Okay. So, University of Southampton, a new campus in India. Aean, do you know
15:48
anything about that? Oh,
15:55
I was muted. Um, I do not know about this. So, it they said it was new. Yeah.
16:04
Um, I guess the best resource is to just go to their website directly and see if
16:12
they offer any scholarships at that campus. Um, I can't even
16:21
try to speculate if they do. Uh but most of the time um universities
16:30
offer scholarships in different campuses even those that are outside of the
16:36
country. So that is a a a real possibility.
16:42
Um but we we'd have to check. That is the only way to know. So I might check
16:48
while uh we go through other questions and we'll get back to them on that.
16:54
All right. So um I sh Thank you very much Matt. Uh so Neon Penguin I shared
17:01
the question uh sorry after your question I shared our page for
17:06
University of Southampton. Uh there like you can see the scholarships by just
17:11
clicking the scholarship section here. Um but yeah as Aean said these are like
17:18
these are the scholarships of this university but they're not all of them might be available at this new campus
17:25
and I also shared the link with you for their uh scholarship page hang on this is okay select country there is India
17:32
here maybe we can go through that yeah they they do offer scholarships I
17:37
have sent you the link hang on um yeah
17:42
so they offer three scholarships Delhi Presidential Scholarships, Future Challenge Scholarship and Cambridge
17:48
Scholarship Award. In total, I think it's uh 17 scholarships.
17:54
Okay. So, let me share the link with you as well. And I'm going to also share the
18:00
link for this like their own India page. That's just their normal website though.
18:06
I don't think this is uh I think this is something you can find very easily.
18:12
Okay. So the next question I think it was Matt. Yes. Uh no hang on before Matt
18:20
there was is Russia good for study age university St. Peter Petersburg for
18:26
bachelor. I sure don't have any information on that ammon uh like
18:31
quickly if you have any anything you want to say about this one. Um I don't think Russia is a viable
18:39
destination at the moment just given the political unrest and how things are
18:44
going there. Uh many international students are trying to avoid Russia. So
18:50
for the time being I think Russia the US are not really options for international
18:57
students. Okay. Thank you very much. Matt says, "I'm from India and I'm 17 years old and
19:03
I want to pursue my bachelor's in the tech field like artificial intelligence from European country like Germany. I
19:10
want to make my education free cost." Um, that's the question. Okay. So, um,
19:20
bachelors in a tech field, we have scholarships in Germany. Uh, we've made
19:26
videos about scholarships in Germany. So the again uh your country does not
19:32
really matter all that much. Uh so I'll just reset filters here. You can search
19:37
for Germany um and bachelors. As you can see we have about 50
19:44
scholarships. Now Matt the the whole situation in Germany is that uh usually
19:49
universities and even their some of their best universities do not charge any tuition fee. So when you see free
19:55
tuition this goes as uh like full tuition scholarship but basically it's
20:01
not some scholarship scholarship that you have to earn that you have to apply for but basically it means that this
20:07
university for example oenber university or let's say uh free university of berlin university of hamburg university
20:15
dortmund all of these uh universities and some of these are like uh globally top universities like gladwick maximal
20:21
university of Munich it means they do not charge tuition fees. You don't have to pay any tuition. You only have to pay
20:28
about uh like €300 or something like that uh for for semester fee. And other
20:36
than that, they also do not give you a lot of uh stipens as well because the
20:43
education is already uh free. You don't have to pay any tuition, etc., etc. You can see their programs. A lot of German
20:50
universities are obviously really good at tech. Uh so what you can do is uh now one
20:58
thing about Germany is a little that is a little different to other uh places like usually people when they want free
21:05
education they're looking for free education they look for full funding scholarships right for example if you
21:11
want to study in United States and if you want it to be free you need full
21:16
funding scholarship because it will cover your tuition and then it will also cover like living stipens maybe
21:22
insurance or something like that uh they it has to be full funding but when it comes to Germany so so as you can see
21:28
these are full funding scholarships in uh United States but when it comes to Germany since there is no uh tuition fee
21:37
in in a lot of universities uh those types of scholarships is not really
21:43
categorized as uh full funding but they are partial funding so let's take this
21:50
for example RWTH university uh student assistantship. So, we've made videos
21:56
about this, for example, and it gives you about uh €6,000 per semester, which
22:03
is uh €12,000 every year. Uh which is pretty much the amount that you would
22:09
have to have in your blocked account, which is the amount that German government think you will have to spend
22:14
in an entire year uh to study in Germany. So basically this covers your entire uh it should cover your entire
22:22
like living costs and since RWTH Aan University does not charge any tuition
22:28
fee fee at all this actually comes to a full funding scholarship. Do you
22:34
understand what I mean? Uh like it would be full funding scholarship except it is
22:39
only partial because the university doesn't charge any uh tuition. So like if for people who do not know basically
22:46
there are three types of scholarships. Um hang on not this
22:54
partial funding full tion and full funding. Partial funding means it covers less than the university's tuition fees.
23:01
Uh full tion means it covers the entirety of tuition fees and that's it. And full funding means it covers the
23:07
tuition and then it gives you something more like stipened uh insurance accommodation and etc. All right. Um so
23:15
yeah usually people look for full funding but even though this scholarship and a lot of these scholarships are uh
23:21
partial funding they cover your living costs and since the university does not charge you tuition fees uh it is pretty
23:27
much like full funding. Another thing about Germany um is that
23:34
you said Germany, right? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Uh there are of course other
23:40
European countries as well you can look for. I would uh advise you to look for Italy for example. France has some great
23:48
scholarships. Um they have like government scholarships as well. And again, in those countries too, some very
23:54
very high quality education universities do not charge any tuition fees or they charge like €1,000, €2,000 every year.
24:03
Another thing about Germany is most universities give you very good
24:09
information on living costs. Uh so let's say University of Cass Cassell.
24:15
Um, I kind of hazard a guess that if I go to their page for, for example, uh,
24:22
any one of these scholarships, they also give you information about how much you
24:28
would have to spend. Uh, it's about like sometimes it's about €800, €700, €1,000
24:34
or something like that. Um, I can't see it here, but they usually do. Um, hang
24:44
on. Maybe maybe you can see it here. Full ttoion. Let's try to see their page.
24:50
Um yeah, for example, uh this is composition of the semester fee. As you can see, it's about €400.
24:58
Um much of fund payment fine.
25:07
I cannot see it here. Still life. Now you can also uh Google it. They have
25:13
very specific page. When will the stream end? Uh do you want us to be gone? Is it
25:19
that boring? Uh Merlin, it's usually like it ends around 700 p.m. Uh it kind
25:25
of depends on how many questions you have. Okay. Um Matt, we've answered I
25:33
think Merlin AI or Merlin L had some had a question but then deleted it. Okay. It
25:41
says I'm from Telangana. Uh
25:47
Dan says they're from India. I want to do a bachelor's in tech field. Hang on. Uh before I move on to that question,
25:53
maybe Aean has uh some insights that he wants to give about Matt Matt's question. Um Aean, is there something
26:00
you want to say? Um I think you summed it up really uh
26:06
when it comes to studying in Germany. Um so provided that
26:14
um so if you're not we're not talking about scholarships in the first place uh
26:19
universities don't charge any tuition fees. You're only uh required to have a
26:25
certain amount in euros in a blocked bank account in order to uh get a
26:31
student visa. that amount is usually around
26:36
um 11,000 uh euros. So if you have that in your
26:43
account to cover your first year, you're going to be given a student's visa and you're going to be admitted to the
26:48
university that uh accepted you.
26:54
Um if you're going for the scholarships route, uh there's of course the
27:00
government scholarship that is the DAD that most uh students go for when
27:07
applying to uh universities in Germany. Um
27:14
so with the scholarship uh providing the assip for the living
27:21
expenses in addition to a few other uh expenses
27:27
uh you your studies will be fully funded in Germany. So at the beginning, so if
27:34
you don't have any scholarships, you can assume that uh scholar universities in
27:40
Germany provide full tuition. They all provide full tuition scholarships
27:46
because they're just free. Uh there is a semester fee as you mentioned. So usually it's between 200
27:53
to 350 maybe the highest would be 400 uh
27:59
euros per semester which is nothing uh in comparison to
28:06
other universities outside of Europe uh which is really good. So they also
28:13
mentioned that they want to go to other European countries.
28:19
Uh but Germany was an example. I would say that most of what what I said about
28:26
Germany would apply to most countries uh in Europe, especially South Europe. So
28:34
Italy or France or to a lesser extent Spain and Portugal.
28:40
Um most of what is said about uh Germany applies to all of them even though
28:46
tuition could be a little higher. It could it's not completely free in some universities but it's uh not as
28:54
expensive as say tuition in the UK or the US or Australia. So it would be
29:02
around 2,000 to4,000 uh but nothing
29:10
too much. Um yeah so that is uh mostly
29:17
uh Europe. Uh all of these countries have their own uh government programs
29:24
uh that uh cover the difference between what the universities provide and what you would
29:29
need. uh making studying there uh fully funded. Uh so you can search up any
29:40
country and then search up their government scholarship and just apply
29:45
for it. That is the way to go about it if you are looking for a fully funded
29:50
scholarship in any European country. Okay. Thank you very much Aman. Um so by
29:58
the way Matt I shared two links with you. One of them is for our page for DAD
30:04
scholarship. If you want to study in Germany you'll be interested in that. Uh also we have about 51 scholarship
30:10
stories uh about the AAD and I think a lot of these people are like a lot of
30:16
these links also provide as you can see social media uh links to contact uh the
30:22
scholarship winners. So like you can get a lot of information about the AAD and again it's a very generous scholarship
30:28
even though it's really competitive. Um okay so Merlin
30:33
I I see so you wanted to learn learn like how uh when we're going to ask your
30:38
question I get it. Is it a nonprofit from 7 years? Uh how much money you do
30:45
you make? I wouldn't know. I'm just the host like YouTube host here and I've been working here for like a year. Uh I
30:53
think it's I think it counts as nonprofit. I'm not sure the legal definition, but yeah, as you can see,
30:59
all of these all of this is kind of free information. Uh we also do have a newsletter that I don't nearly enough
31:07
like mention it. Um the only paid service that we provide is that we have
31:14
a consulting service. Basically, this is we used to have that and a lot of people
31:19
were asking, but we kind of kind of paused that for a while. Now, it's back,
31:25
but it's back in the form of like YouTube membership. So, if you get if you get like I think it's tier 2 uh
31:31
YouTube membership. We have a discord server where you can actually uh get direct information like at all times ask
31:39
about your own uh like applications, university applications. I'm going to apply to this university. I want to
31:44
apply to this scholarship etc etc like direct direct consultation. Um yeah you
31:50
can get access to our uh discord server with our I think it's tier two uh
31:58
YouTube membership that's the only paid part of uh the whole the whole uh
32:04
platform. I think it that kind that kind of makes it a nonprofit. So back to your
32:10
question uh I want to do bachelor's in tech field from USA. You want 100% a so I think you
32:20
mean uh you are from India and want to study in USA for bachelor uh tech. Now
32:26
you'd be very interested in I believe uh financial aid programs of uh American
32:33
universities. These are let's just hit enter here. Um, I'm going to filter for
32:39
bachelor. I'm going to filter for uh funding type, full funding, and I could
32:47
filter for currently open. Not that many. We have sanctuary awards. I think there
32:53
was one financial aid. Uh, we have William Falhousen Memorial Scholarship that is full funding, open for
33:00
application right now. We're going to talk about that in a second. I think there was one financial aid program that
33:06
is that was open a couple of weeks ago. We talked about that. Uh never mind that. Hang on. All deadlines. So
33:14
nationalities does not really matter. For example, we have about 158 fully funded scholarships in for bachelors in
33:22
uh United States. Hang on, I didn't filter for United States.
33:27
Yeah, 74. And let's see how many of them are available to Indian students.
33:36
Yeah. Um about 50 72 like you only lose about
33:41
two. Um thank you very much man. So this is
33:46
the one you'll see most financial aid need-based financial aid need-based financial aid. Basically what needbased
33:53
financial aid means is that these universities offer you financial aid in
34:00
the form of they cover your like maybe 100% of or less
34:06
of your demonstrated needs. So what demonstrated needs mean is when you
34:12
apply to this university you tell them you need financial aid right and then they ask you of course how much
34:19
financial aid you need. So they need to estimate how much financial aid you
34:24
need. For that you give them information um you give them information about your
34:31
like family's income uh how much like their um let's say tax information,
34:37
income information, etc., etc. And then they estimate they say okay uh to be able to apply and study in this
34:44
university, let's say Harvard University, you'll need about uh $70,000 every year. And from the information you
34:51
gave us, we kind of estimate that your family will be able to provide you about about 30,000. So your demonstrated needs
35:00
is about $40,000 in that situation. Okay? And if you get the scholarship, uh
35:06
the university covers all of that and it covers that for four years. That what
35:12
100% of the demonstrated needs mean. Of course, getting these is a little
35:18
difficult because a lot of people are applying to these universities. They're very competitive and sometimes if you
35:25
need financial aid, depending on the university, uh if the university of
35:30
university is needware, it might kind of harm your chances of getting in. Some
35:36
universities say, uh, we're going to only look at your grades and etc, etc., and if you need financial aid, it will
35:42
not harm your chances of getting in. uh some universities are not like that.
35:47
It's like uh yeah, if there are two same candidates and one of them need
35:54
financial aid and one of them does not need financial aid, we're going to go with the one that does not need
36:00
financial aid. So yeah, keep uh keep that in mind. Other than that, full
36:05
funding. Um Aean, would you like is there anything specific you want to say about someone Oh, hang on. At that exact
36:13
moment, our Zoom call ended. I'm just going to call him again. Uh the Zoom is doing this right now.
36:24
Let's open the Zoom meeting. We should be back on it in a second.
36:31
There's also this one full funding scholarship. Uh we're going to talk about that in a second as I said.
36:41
Okay, Ammon, can you hear me? Um, yes, I can hear you. Okay, I can hear you as well. And I
36:47
think OBS is also picking up your sound. Let me just check live stream.
36:53
Yeah.
37:00
Okay. Okay. Uh, you're good to go. So is there anything you you want to specifically add uh about somebody who
37:07
is from India wants to study in uh United States for B obviously uh you
37:13
probably will want to talk about like the current situation in United States uh for bachelors in tech field and and
37:20
they are they are in need of 100% aid.
37:25
Um yeah so normally I think you have sum summed up the
37:30
normal situation pretty well and I don't really have anything to add to that you explained how need blind or
37:38
sorry need aware universities operate um and that's exactly how it is it kind
37:46
of undermines your application because if there is another candidate with the same
37:53
um qualifications But they don't need any financial aid. They would be
37:58
admitted and you wouldn't. So that part
38:03
uh I think is clear. Um but with the current situation in the
38:08
United States, I think that uh students should keep in mind that
38:15
uh now when applying for a student visa, you need to apply to uh provide your
38:20
social media accounts and there is a lot of scrutiny when it comes to uh
38:26
providing uh a United States visa uh currently. So that is one thing. So if
38:33
you're not active on social media that that just counts as
38:39
uh a fail on your part uh because there is uh nothing they can verify. So I
38:47
think that is something to keep in mind for students who want to go to the United
38:53
States as students. I think a requirement now is to be active on
38:59
social media. Um yeah uh that is one part and then the second
39:07
part is that uh funding to international student is is going to be way less than
39:14
it used to be in the previous years. uh they're trying to have
39:20
uh fewer uh international students in the United States at least for the next
39:28
3 years I guess until there is a new administration that might
39:34
uh abolish all these these laws. Until then, I think the United States is going
39:40
to be way way tougher to get into than it used to be uh two three years ago. Um
39:48
so keep that in mind. Um other than that, I would still try. So there is no
39:55
harm in trying to get into universities just provided that you keep all of what was said in mind when it comes to being
40:02
active on social media when it comes to uh knowing that your chances are lower
40:08
than uh what they once was or they once were. Sorry. Um
40:15
but I would still try. So there are fully funded scholarships. There are a lot of universities that would give you
40:21
need-based financial aid um just based on your situation provided
40:27
that maybe your family can have a little bit of contribution even if it's um a
40:33
little amount uh that would be um very very significant when it comes to
40:40
applying to these universities. There are universities in the United States that give you scholarships based on your
40:46
for example eyelets or TOEFL scores. Uh
40:51
they are not as common as they are in other countries in Asia but uh you can
40:58
find these scholarships. So if you get a good score on your English proficiency
41:03
exam, uh you can get a scholarship that is equal to up to full tuition just
41:10
based on that score. Okay, thank you very much. Um
41:17
yeah, by the way, Matt, uh that was the thing Amy was talking about. It kind of depends on the scholarship as well.
41:24
Different scholarships are looking for different things. Uh there are scholarships that are just like only
41:30
interested in your language proficiency. For example, there are scholarships like
41:35
that in I think there are a lot of scholarships like that in um South Korea. Basically, you enter their
41:42
language proficiency test and if you get a high score, you automatically get like
41:48
80% 100% up to 100% tuition fee reduction. Also like of course the
41:54
grades etc. are very important but also there is the kind of personal touch uh
41:59
like the universities really want to see their scholarships creating kind of like
42:05
positive impact uh in the world or wherever you are going back perhaps. So
42:11
yeah they really they really kind of prefer people who have like who will
42:17
really benefit from that from those scholarships. But again uh there are different scholarships. For example,
42:23
there are sports scholarships. There are scholarships for different uh groups of people. Uh sometimes there are
42:31
scholarships for people in need specifically like there are a lot of
42:36
those in United Kingdom as well. People like disadvantaged people etc. So yeah
42:42
it kind of depends on the scholarship but normally they yeah they look kind of like good grades and leadership and etc.
42:49
as Merlin said. Okay. So, I don't think we missed any questions. There have been
42:56
a lot of uh chitchat going on. So, let me double check to make sure. Um
43:04
yeah, I think we've answered all of that. So, uh today we're going to talk about this one scholarship. um which is
43:12
kind of interesting since uh you just ask about full funding scholarships in
43:18
United States. So there are not that many scholarships uh full funding scholarships currently open for
43:24
application. There were about like seven eight in our database. Uh and this one we didn't really talk about uh before
43:31
and I don't really know much about this one. I think it's it's it's
43:37
a like it's a very promising scholarship. It's worth it worth a try. So this is William Fogousen Memorial
43:44
Scholarship at New York City College of Technology. This is for bachelors. It's
43:50
full funding. There are no specific nationalities. There are no specific subjects which means every single
43:56
subject in this university is available. Uh if you want to apply there are there isn't any additional um application for
44:05
this one. So it covers a full tuition scholarship. Yeah. It covers your tuitions and it covers additional
44:11
financial support. Let's get a little more information about the university. Uh it's in New York. H as you can see it
44:19
has kind of like smaller population. It has about 13 scholarships. A lot of
44:24
these scholarships are of course not full funding. And as you can see, tuition is already kind of way more
44:32
affordable than what you would see in United States. Um, by the way, Aean, do
44:38
you have any like do you see any new questions? Because I kind of start to think about maybe there are questions
44:45
that I cannot see right now. No, there are. Okay, good. Uh, so yeah, it is already
44:53
more affordable than what you would see in the United States. You can get more information about the application
44:58
procedure, admission deadline. Um, maybe we can make a tutorial for this.
45:05
So, if you have any questions, as always, you can just leave them here. Yeah, this is pretty much the uh the
45:11
university. Let's see uh where it is and what it looks like.
45:18
It's in New York, of course. It's not in Manhattan, but quite close. Here it is.
45:25
Uh so, this is the university if you want to study in uh United States. So
45:31
one thing about this scholarship is that they do not give you a specific amount about how much they're going to cover uh
45:39
other than the tuition fees. So you have like you know how much really you're
45:44
getting with tuition uh coverage but you don't know what kind of a stipen you will get. And living this close to
45:52
Manhattan like this in the middle of uh New York is going to be very expensive
45:58
especially if you cannot find accommodation like suitable accommodation for a student. Um I think
46:05
you I'm not sure if university offers a lot of uh on campus accommodation as well. So keep in mind that it will be
46:12
very expensive. Do you have any Instagram? Uh no we do not. Hang on. I
46:17
think we do have Instagram. I'm not sure how uh how active we are there. I do not
46:25
manage it as like I can say as much. So yeah, this is the university.
46:32
Again, not that much to be said about the scholarship. We have eligibility criteria. You have to have a minimum GPA
46:38
of 3.2. Um
46:45
so okay. Um you hang on there is no separate application.
46:51
It says I would double check this. Uh you apply to the university and it's done. We made a video about this
46:58
earlier. I think it was a long time ago. Do you use I mean I use Instagram uh as
47:05
my like as a my personal uh Instagram account but I do not like there I don't
47:11
think we have uh obviously I don't share any uh global like scholarship stuff in
47:17
there. So this is all the scholarships that this university offers and as you
47:23
can see a lot of these are kind of like uh funded by uh I think alumni of this
47:30
university. Uh this is the one we're talking about. William William Fulcausen memorial scholarship established in
47:37
memory of former City Foundation board member uh William Fulcausen by his wife
47:42
Grace Leu Fulcausen to provide a full tion scholarship and other financial support to recipients. As you can see be
47:50
like we cannot provide specific information about the amount because the university does not offer uh specific
47:57
information. So yeah, um there are other scholarships as well. You can read about
48:02
them here. I'm going to share the link with you in the chat actually. Let's do that. Okay. Um
48:11
that is pretty much it really. You apply to the university, you apply to the scholarship like this application to the
48:17
scholarship and you get uh the tuition fee and a vague amount of uh financial
48:23
support uh which again I would say it is quite expensive to live in New York. So
48:29
keep it keep that in mind. Anyone do you want to add anything about the scholarship?
48:38
Um I don't think there's much to add because there there isn't that much
48:43
detail about the scholarship itself. All all that is available is that it covers tuition fees and other expenses and the
48:52
only the only eligibility criterion is to have a GPA of 3.2 or higher. But
49:00
that is all uh that we we really have. I'm not sure
49:08
if contacting the university will
49:14
um provide more information. I'm not sure
49:20
if they'll be able to disclose that. I think for the most part the people who
49:25
will get the scholarship would know exactly how much it covers uh in the offer letter. So when once you get your
49:32
offer letter, you'll get they will tell you that you're admitted and you're admitted with the following scholarship
49:39
and what it covers exactly, but I don't think they disclosed that on their website.
49:45
Um yeah, but overall it's a a really good scholarship provided that it
49:52
actually um gives students uh some stipend
49:57
and not just uh expenses that are related to books
50:04
um or just little things. So if it provides a stipend uh on top of the
50:10
tuition fees, then it's a a really really good scholarship to go for. Uh
50:17
yeah, the the position of the university itself um just gives you an idea about how
50:25
expensive it's going to be. Being in the heart of uh New York, uh
50:32
living will be expensive. So if it doesn't provide uh any living stipent,
50:39
it's as good as a full tuition scholarship. So you should be ready for
50:45
that. Yeah. Um yeah. Yeah. Other than that, I don't
50:50
think there is much to go off of. So
50:57
um if it provides to if it provides a living stipen, it's an excellent
51:02
scholarship. If it doesn't, it's still a decent scholarship because you
51:09
um you don't have to pay the 18,000 in tuition, which is already uh a big big
51:17
uh expense, and you'd only have to uh support
51:22
yourself financially for your stay uh while studying there.
51:29
Okay, thank you very much, Aean. Um yeah guys, that's pretty much it for
51:35
today. Um I don't see any new questions. Uh and we've talked about the
51:41
scholarship that want to talk about today. And as there are no new questions, I'm going
51:48
to end the live stream here. Thank you very much for joining in. And if you're watching this after uh the live stream
51:54
as a VOD, thank you very much for watching. We'll be here next Friday. We are here every Friday to answer your
52:01
questions. Other than that, we have videos pretty much every day about scholarships, about uh studying abroad
52:08
opportunities, uh how to do that, like but we have a lot of stuff. If you're
52:15
interested, check out our videos. And yeah, that's pretty much it. Uh thank
52:21
you very much for uh joining in. Aean, thank you for coming in and answering our questions.
52:30
Yes, of course. Thank you for having me as. All right. Um, see you everyone. Have a nice week and bye.
