I think we should be live. Yep, there we are. Hi everyone, it's
0:08
Global School Chips. I hope we're global scholarships. I hope you're
0:14
all doing well. I hope everything is going great. I am as your host and I'm here as always joined by Aean. Hi Aean,
0:20
how are you? How's it going? Uh hi, I'm doing well, thank you. How
0:26
are you? I'm doing well too. Thank you very much. So everyone, we are as always
0:31
here for another Friday live stream. If you're new here, we are global scholarships. Uh we do live streams
0:36
every Friday pretty much at the same hour. Uh we talk about scholarships. We talk about studying abroad. If you have
0:43
any questions, this is a Q&A live stream obviously. Uh we are here to answer your questions. Uh so we are global
0:49
scholarships. Let me share the link. Actually I never do that. Uh basically we're a platform that shares a lot of
0:56
informative stuff about scholarships, scholarship opportunities all around the world about studying abroad like what
1:02
problems, what issues you might encounter, uh what countries are the best, what schools are open for
1:08
application, what scholarships are open for application. So this is pretty much all the information that uh we have and
1:15
I suspect it's all the information you will probably need. Uh as you can see we have guides like scholarship guides
1:22
about scholarships by degree about government scholarships. These are very popular ones. You can click on any one
1:28
of them. This is a completely free website by the way. There is no registration. There is no pricing. There
1:34
is no uh like membership or something like that. You just can go in and like
1:41
read pretty much all the guides that you want. Uh we have currently open scholarships. We also of course make
1:48
videos uh like make content on these. We have guides about countries. So hang on.
1:55
Uh basically country guides. Uh these are kind of collections. Uh as you can see for different
2:02
countries and you can click on any one of them that you might be interested in. Let's say you want to study in Australia. And these are basically like
2:10
collections of guides about different subjects like from higher education, choosing a university, best programs to
2:17
study, applying to a university, uh documents and tests, uh English proficiency. There are of course
2:24
different like language tests uh in different countries and of course one of
2:29
the most uh one of the things that you're most interested in uh financing
2:35
uh like how to study for free cost of studying and what scholarships what
2:42
affordable universities exist. Hang on let me see something.
2:47
Okay everything's working. Um so yeah
2:52
basically if you're interested in in any specific country sometimes people come into our live stream and ask like I want
3:00
to study in this country what do you propose like what do you advise what advice could you give to me basically
3:05
just going in and reading all these guides uh I think will give you almost
3:10
all the information that uh you might need of course there will be specifics to your uh to the school that you want
3:17
to study to where where and when you want ago. Uh but like in general the
3:22
these will give you the information you'll need. Um other than that we have like free cheap and free universities,
3:28
English taught universities in different countries. So yeah and tests and
3:33
documents. By the way we do have consulting services now. We used to have this and a lot of people had been coming
3:40
into our live streams and asking about like do you give consultancy services but for a while it it was down. We
3:47
didn't accept any uh any new people because like we already have enough people and you don't want to make it too
3:54
crowded uh because you want to be able to like you want to be be able to give enough attention to everyone. Uh but now
4:01
we are again open basically uh this is done through our YouTube channel. Uh we
4:07
have memberships and if you become a like tier 2 member uh you can get access
4:12
to our discord server where you can get like direct uh support for your applications for your like for like
4:19
scholarship applications uh university applications etc. So yeah these are the
4:24
things that you can find and of course uh we also have a search tool uh but
4:30
which we'll talk in a second. Um other than that we have like an external
4:36
scholarship. Uh can you help get one? So yeah uh if
4:42
you have any question like any specific question we'll be happy to help you but
4:47
other than that like if you are asking in terms of um like if you have a specific question about a scholarship
4:54
about a university perhaps we'll do our best to answer them but if you mean can you help get one in uh in sense that
5:02
like consultancy service u yeah then you need to get like the YouTube membership
5:08
other than that like you can't ask your questions here. You can ask you can ask your questions on our YouTube uh videos
5:15
in comment section and uh for example let me see
5:20
like dad scholarship for example uh every page that we have in our website we have a comment section so you can
5:27
leave your questions here and Hani who is the founder of global scholarships he
5:32
answers every single every single question here uh like if I had a question that I needed answered This is
5:40
where I would put my question. So yeah,
5:45
uh we have scholarship stories. Basically these are stories of people who have earned
5:52
some great scholarships all around the world. Uh chancellor scholarship uh Australia
5:57
award scholarship that is the uh government scholarship in Australia fullbride scholarship max scholarship
6:04
all of those just click here. I think it's it's a really good idea to get as much
6:10
information as you can uh if you're if you're if you want to get like a big
6:16
scholarship because uh scholarships like these um like for example
6:23
commonwealth scholarship uh or let's see
6:32
hang on I'm trying to find like a big yeah for for example the AAD like this
6:37
is the German government scholarship and usually these scholarships um are very
6:43
very popular. A lot of people apply to these scholarships. So you really need to stand out among a huge amount of
6:51
people like hundreds, thousands. Uh so I think your best chance to stand out uh
6:59
among tons of people is to get direct information from people who have
7:04
achieved that. Basically, you can click on any one of these people and read about their stories. Basically,
7:12
where they get their scholarships, like what university? Uh, hi there. Uh, welcome to our live stream. It's great
7:18
to see you. Uh, so like how like their educational background, how they prepare
7:24
to apply. Uh, like what made their their application stand out? So yeah, those
7:31
things really uh I mean there are smaller scholarships that you can apply to and uh like you'll you'll have a good
7:40
chance of perhaps getting that but if you're look going for a big scholarship I think this is a great idea. So yeah
7:47
also usually they are really okay with uh being contacted through for example
7:53
linkedin for example if you want to get this scholarship uh manuen scholarship I
8:00
think like you can basically contact this person and get like directly ask your questions to someone who have
8:07
earned that scholarship. I think that's a great opportunity. So yeah scholarship stories are really
8:14
good. uh you might want to check these out.
8:19
Other than that, we have a search tool. I think this is our best uh best
8:24
feature. I would say it is really intuitive to use. It is
8:30
really easy, free. I use it all the time to find scholarships to make content on.
8:36
Basically, as you can see, you just type in something that you're interested in. Could be a country, could be a scholarship, could be a university.
8:41
Let's say Oxford, right? And then you can choose the institution or uh the scholarship or hit enter. Um
8:50
it'll show you results based on that. Or you can type in a country. Let's say you
8:56
want to study in uh United States, right? Choose the country.
9:02
It'll show you all the scholarships that we have in our database in that country. Or you can just hit enter without typing
9:08
in anything. I need uh the what the damn scholarship. Do you mean
9:14
the AD scholarship or do you need a scholarship uh for Germany?
9:21
I don't think I I understand that specific question. So as you can see we have about 4,500
9:30
scholarships in our database. These are scholarships that are given most of them
9:35
are a scholarship given by the universities to uh Yeah. No, no, it's fine. So, if you're looking for
9:41
scholarships in Germany, um, well, unfortunately, there are not
9:48
that many. Uh, we've made a couple of videos recently about scholarships that
9:53
are open. So, what you can do is go to our search tool, type in Germany,
10:01
okay? And I'll share the link with you. So these are the scholarships that are
10:07
offered by the universities. Um you'll see a lot of these are free tuition
10:13
which just means that that country for example University of Hamburg uh they do not charge any tuition fees. It's just
10:19
free education. But if you try to find like full funding scholarships in this
10:25
uh country you won't find any except the AD government scholarship.
10:30
Let me also share the link with you. You probably know if you are looking for scholarships in Germany, you probably heard about the AAD scholarship, but you
10:37
can always get more information. Um, now the thing is there are not that many
10:42
full funding scholarships in Germany because um, okay, so let's first talk
10:49
about uh what's full funding. So there are three types of different scholarships. Okay. Uh, partial funding,
10:55
full tuition, full funding. Partial funding means it covers less than the university's tuition fees.
11:02
Uh full tuition means it covers just the tuition fees and that's it. And full funding means it covers the tuition fees
11:08
of that university but also gives you something a little more. Could be accommodation, could be a living
11:13
statement, could be insurance. Some scholarships are extremely comprehensive, extremely generous. They
11:20
cover pretty much everything. Some of them just give you like a couple of hundred every month or something like
11:25
that. Uh now full funding scholarships are obviously very popular but they're
11:31
not that many. There are not that many of those because obviously they're are more expensive uh for the university. So
11:38
people want full funding scholarships but in Germany there are not that many full funding scholarships because there
11:45
is like a lot of universities don't have tuition fees at all. So a scholarship if a scholarship cannot cover the tuition
11:52
fee it becomes partial funding even though it practically is a full funding
11:58
scholarship. So I would advise you to look for partially funded scholarships
12:03
in Germany because let's say a University of Castle student
12:08
assistantship. So this is partial funding. It does not cover the tuition fees of this university because
12:15
University of Kasel do not charge any tuition fees in the first place. Okay, so do not get confused. Uh, a lot of
12:21
partial funding scholarships in Germany are actually kind of practically full
12:26
funding scholarships, right? So, for example, we have a lot of uh scholar
12:31
student assistantships uh in Germany. Now, student assistantship uh I think
12:37
you're from Turkey and I do believe that you might probably know that we have assistantships in Turkey as well. like
12:44
you go and work as an assistant in the university. Basically, it is kind of being employed by the university. You
12:51
get uh like all the benefits. Uh you get usually you get your tuition covered. Uh
12:56
there are a lot of these in uh United States. Um we basically work at the university.
13:03
Usually they are for masters and PhD students for graduate students. Uh in
13:08
Germany you have some of these for bachelors as well. For example, uh technically University of Munich, one of
13:15
the best universities in Germany, uh a student assistantship, you can apply to this and it covers pretty much like a
13:22
wage equal to or higher than €12. Basically, it is just like kind of a a
13:28
living wage, the amount of wage that you would get in that university. Um we have
13:34
Opportunity Manheim scholarship. We talked about this one uh like either last week or a week before that. Uh you
13:41
might want to check that video. I think we have healthcare insurance. It's called uh at learning. Um yeah. So
13:52
I think yeah I think a lot of uh assistantships also give you uh health
13:59
insurance. I mean in a lot of countries like in Europe health insurance is not that big of a deal uh as much as it is
14:05
in United States obviously. Okay. Do your research.
14:11
can apply. If you have any questions for about like specific um universities,
14:17
specific scholarships, uh sometimes we cannot really answer all the comments uh
14:24
on our comment section, but you can always come to our live streams and ask your questions.
14:29
Can I apply for Arasmus? I'm in my final year of bachelor. Shows how to apply for
14:35
a scholarship. So honey, um there are not a what would you say a uniform way
14:44
of applying to scholarships. Every scholarship is difficult uh so different. Some scholarships don't
14:51
really need uh for example let me show you one. There are a lot of scholarships that do not require any additional uh
15:00
application. Some scholarships you can only apply for after you you're admitted to the university which is why I cannot
15:06
like make tutorials. Um some scholarships you apply while applying to
15:12
the university and for example I think that was uh I think it was Kais tutorial. uh we make we make tutorials
15:21
uh application tutorials all the time uh but to for applying to the universities and in some of those application
15:27
tutorials you also apply to a scholarship uh for example um I think
15:34
financial aid is one of those. So yeah, I cannot really show you right now how
15:41
to apply for a scholarship. Like if you have any specific scholarship in mind, maybe we can help you a little better.
15:48
Can I apply for Arasmus? I'm in my final year of bachelor.
15:54
Um I'm not sure how that really happens in different
15:59
countries. Can you also give us perhaps information about your country? Uh Aean, what would you make of this?
16:10
Um, yes, you can. There's no reason why you can't apply for any scholarship
16:17
um at your final year. So, you're applying for a master's program. Um,
16:23
generally speaking, they would uh ask for your transcripts.
16:29
if you don't have them ready, uh you'll probably be able to apply and
16:34
then submit them before the deadline. Uh but for the most part, I think uh you
16:41
definitely can apply because when you apply now, you get in for to next year's program. So each year is like the year
16:48
after you get into the program, which means that applying it in your final year is the best time to apply.
16:57
Okay. Thank you. Uh so in United States if you are looking for a full funding
17:03
bachelor scholarship uh we have need-based financial aid. Um this is
17:08
given by a lot of universities uh to bachelor students. Basically if you show them you have financial needs um like
17:18
you need to give them a lot of information about your family's financial situation like tax uh and
17:24
income etc etc. And if you're a really good student, the university can look at
17:29
you and say, "Okay, uh you need about $30,000 to be able to a year to be able
17:35
to study uh in this university, and we'll cover that for you." Uh so these
17:40
are the scholarships, financial aid. Actually, we're going to talk about uh one of these today. A lot of these are
17:47
not really open right now because there aren't that many open that many programs
17:52
open for application right now. uh but there is one and we'll talk about uh
17:57
that today. So yeah there are different scholarships different application
18:02
procedures I was talking about uh our search tool. So how our search tool
18:08
works is you can filter for yourself. Can I ask
18:15
question beside the topic? Yeah sure feel free. Uh you can ask anything you
18:21
want. Um so yeah filters we have you can
18:26
filter for yourself um like degree based on degree based on
18:32
location based on funding type. I talked about that uh partial full tution full
18:37
funding for example there are not that many full funding um
18:42
scholarships that that are open right now.
18:49
Hm. Yeah, for bachelors.
18:55
So, as you can see, there are just five uh full funding scholarships that are open right now for bachelors, but when
19:01
you get the mast's or PhD, uh you have way more. Anyway, so you can obviously, as you can
19:09
see, uh filter for like whether it's open or not. All deadlines open. Uh
19:16
let's make this all funding scholarship type. As I said most of these scholarships are university
19:22
scholarships. Basically these are scholarships given by universities to new coming international students. So
19:29
for example University of Texas at Austin uh might have other scholarships that they are given to um enrolled
19:37
students like second year, third year, fourth year students or uh scholarships that they only give to domestic
19:43
students. uh these are those are not included in here. All of these are given to new coming international students. Uh
19:51
we have government scholarships and company scholarships, external scholarships.
19:56
Is it harder to get scholarships in USA than Europe or other country? So I think
20:02
that's a that's a kind of a difficult question to answer uh because there are
20:08
more scholarships in United States usually. Uh but also United States has
20:16
extremely high tuition fees. So for example like if you talk about
20:21
Germany, France, Italy, even just a partial funding scholarship uh might
20:27
really do it for you, cover your living costs because you will probably not have to pay a high very high tuition fee like
20:34
€1,000 a year uh or something like that. But if you're going to study in United
20:40
States and you do not have funds for yourself, um like you will have to get a
20:46
full funding scholarship because otherwise you would have to pay about $40,000 $50,000 uh tuition fee free
20:53
tuition fee every year. So I think I think it is easier to get scholarships
20:58
in the United States because they have more scholarships. But um I think a lot
21:05
of those scholarships will not cover all of your like for most of those scholarships even if you get them you'll
21:12
still have to spend a lot of money to be able to study there. Like maybe you'll
21:18
get full tition scholarship but then still you'll have to pay about a,000
21:23
$1,000 every month based on where you live. Um, of course, there is the there's also the fact that, uh, United
21:30
States is not as welcoming to international students, uh, foreigners
21:35
any as it used to be. Uh, I think Europe at this point might be a better idea to,
21:43
uh, look for scholarships. I think so. Yeah, basically in short, I
21:49
think you can find a lot of scholarships in United States. There are more scholarships. I think it's easier to get
21:55
a scholarship in United States, but I don't think it's that's what I No, hang
22:00
on. Hang on. I didn't even ask our uh expert yet. That was just my personal opinion. Uh Aean, what would you say?
22:16
Amen. I cannot hear. Yep, I can hear you.
22:23
Um yeah, so I was saying that I totally agree with you. I would have said exactly what you said. So I don't really
22:31
have much to add. Um yeah, the United States is not as
22:38
uh welcoming anymore. Mhm. Uh I I don't think
22:43
uh that many students or as many students will be getting into the United States uh through scholarships. I think
22:50
they're the funding is being withdrawn from big universities as well that provide
22:56
university sorry that provide scholarships. So like the political
23:01
scene is affecting education and affecting international students in general. Um so probably for the next
23:09
four years at least uh the United States is not uh a viable
23:15
choice as it used to be. Of course, one thing to add that uh if you are looking
23:22
for a scholarship in Europe, well, first of all, uh I think it would be really
23:28
wise to distinguish between uh like mainland uh Europe and United Kingdom
23:35
because uh there hi there, it's great to see you here. Uh welcome to our live
23:40
stream. Um because United Kingdom is quite different uh to like it's more
23:46
similar to United States than it is to Europe when it comes to scholarships. Uh you don't find sorry you don't find that
23:53
many scholarships. Uh and usually tuition fees are uh
23:59
really high in United Kingdom as well. They do have a lot of uh like sanctuary scholarship, scholarships for uh
24:05
displaced people uh things like that. But if you want to study in France,
24:12
Germany, Spain, uh Italy, I think it is kind of like easier in terms of like
24:19
tuition fees, in terms of how much expenses you'll need uh you'll have. But then also you'll have to think about the
24:26
language of course like if you can learn for example Italian and go to Italy um it would be much much much easier to
24:33
find uh like scholarships or job opportunities in United States than
24:39
finding those in United States uh with just English because uh like if you learn Italian I think going to Italy is
24:46
a really good good idea. I have VPD for Bremen uni but I have not any
24:52
certificate for German language. What should I do? Can I take uh I don't even know how to pronounce that. I'm just
24:58
confused. Yeah, that's a very specific question and of course I'll defer immediately defer to Aean.
25:05
Aean, what do you think? Um [Music] it depends on the program. So if the
25:14
program is completely English taught, you don't really need any uh certification
25:20
for German language proficiency, which is like quite the misconception. When
25:26
people want to study in Germany, they think they would need uh a certain level in German. You do need it in general,
25:33
but it's not a requirement by the universities themselves. So you just need uh your English certification if
25:38
the the course is not in English. Yeah. And I do believe like some for
25:44
example especially graduate courses are only available in English as well. Um
25:50
like I think you're a bachelor if you're asking for bachelor but so yeah that
25:56
that that kind of depends on the program. Uh, one thing to keep in mind that if you want to study in Germany or
26:01
France, I'm not saying this to you, Emir, you probably have, uh, done your research about this, uh, but I knew that
26:10
it existed in Germany, but apparently it also uh, exists in France as well. There's something called a blood count
26:16
that you have to like, uh, get you have to deal with. Basically, if you want to
26:21
go to Germany and study, the German government says, "Okay, I do not want you to come into Germany and then find
26:28
yourself out of funds like find that you cannot you do not have enough money to
26:34
cover your living expenses and become an issue. So, I'm going to need you to show me uh before coming for this year, I'm
26:42
going to need you to show me that you have enough funds about €12,000 in
26:47
account. I'm going to block it. That is your money. I'm going to block it and I'll give it to you uh every month.
26:54
Enough money to like a,000 uh euro to spend that month. So basically, if you
27:00
want to go and study in Germany, you have to put €12,000 in a blocked account and you'll get one 12th of that every
27:08
month. So keep that in mind. I think a lot of people might see that that as
27:13
some like as a disadvantage. I think it's a really it's really an advantage
27:18
because like um I think it's really good that German government is really kind of
27:24
uh concerned about your uh finances. So I can study in Germany without German
27:30
with only English. Yeah, there are English programs. There are programs that offer only offered in English. Uh
27:36
but of course like it would be a little like it would be more advisable to learn uh German. But
27:44
yeah, you can definitely go there and study uh without knowing any German. It
27:51
will be difficult. Bro, can you share about the job market after MSC from
27:57
Arasmus in public health if you are aware? I am not aware at all. That is a
28:03
very specific question. Uh Aean, do you have any idea?
28:08
Uh my advice is to just check our uh scholarship stories. There are so many
28:15
Arasmus Mundus uh recipients and they share everything
28:20
in detail. So that's the best place to find information about such things. How
28:25
did I not think about that? So let's say Arasmus Arasmus Mandos about 83.
28:31
We do have 83 people. Gosh. Okay. So I'm going to share this
28:38
link with you. Uh so we have about stories of 83 people
28:44
different people who have got Arasmus Mundus scholarship. Uh you can just click on any one of them to read their
28:50
stories and hang on. I'm pretty sure we'll find at least a couple of them uh
28:56
who have given us their perhaps like LinkedIn
29:01
or in like any way of contacting them
29:07
if you want get want to get more information direct information.
29:12
Uh I cannot find any. Yeah, here is here's one for example.
29:18
Pakistani energy engineer wins Arasmus Mund scholarship to study sustainability across Europe and you can uh contact
29:25
them through their social media. Okay. I love Algeria. Tell me a scholarship in
29:31
Europe with English like Poland. You are okay. First of all,
29:37
nationalities do not really matter all that much. Uh yeah, that's another thing I want to talk about. So for example, we
29:44
have subjects and nationalities filters here. Uh you can choose for example,
29:49
okay, let me show you. We have about 4,500
29:54
scholarships here, right? This is for everyone. If I choose Algeria,
30:01
you lose about 300 of those. So basically, most scholarships are just
30:06
for all nationalities. Uh about three 300 scholarships are targeted to
30:13
specific nations, specific regions. uh sometimes they are for again displaced
30:18
people a lot of scholarships in United Kingdom or uh or things like that
30:24
other than that your nationality does not really matter I don't think we do have any scholarships in Poland though
30:32
let me see okay we have three u but only one of
30:39
these are um for bachelors and I don't think That's
30:45
for English programs. Okay. So, this is for all subjects, all
30:51
programs offered in this university. Um, so if they are offering English programs, English taught programs, uh, I
30:58
think you can apply to this. But other than that, um, not really. So, what you
31:05
can look into, hang on. Uh, I have one scholarship for you.
31:12
So you're ask you're looking for bachelor, right? Hang on. Uh are you the one
31:19
asking for? No. Okay. You're looking for a bachelor. So we have Pedoa scholarship. Pedro International
31:25
Excellence Scholarship. This is for example, this is a great scholarship. The university is already a great
31:31
university and it has very low tuition fees. And this scholarship covers your
31:37
tuition and gives you €8,000 every year. And the one of the criteria that you
31:45
have to fulfill is to apply for an English taught program. So I also have
31:50
made an application tutorial.
31:55
Yeah, there it is. So you can uh it is not open for application right now. Uh
32:01
but if you're interested, you can apply to this university. And uh when you go through this tutorial and apply to the
32:07
university, you don't also have to apply for a scholarship. So if you apply for
32:13
an English program following this tutorial, you will also be considered for this scholarship.
32:20
Um it's given to 62 people and it gives you about 8,000 every year. uh which
32:28
would which should take like which should take care of pretty much uh your all all your living expenses almost
32:35
let's say and the tition fees. So yeah is a great university. It is a great
32:40
scholarship. It's one of my all-time favorite scholarships in uh Europe and
32:45
is for English taught programs. We also have this one but I don't I'm not sure
32:50
if this is for English taught programs. Uh Aean, do you have anything? uh in
32:58
mind like from top of your head you can
33:04
you can talk about like in Europe with English
33:11
I mean I believe that's what they mean by with English like English taught
33:17
programs. Yeah I I think you can study in English
33:22
in most European countries. Mhm. Um because universities that's the that's
33:29
the language of instruction in most universities except for a few subjects
33:35
that are taught in uh the the country's native language. Sometimes it's
33:42
medicine, sometimes uh it's that kind of uh uh subjects, but
33:49
for for the most part they're in English. Uh yeah, for Poland uh there
33:54
aren't many scholarships because education is already quite affordable. I
34:00
think uh tuition is around 4 to 7K for
34:05
perhaps per year. So it's not really bad. Uh I think the countries that I
34:10
would recommend for English talk programs would be Austria, the Netherlands,
34:18
um Belgium,
34:23
uh yeah, Germany, Hungary, Romania is also a decent
34:32
uh choice uh when it comes to studying uh in Europe, but It's really slept on.
34:39
I don't think that people uh go there much, but the education there is really good. So, yeah. So, I
34:47
think these countries, they're really close to each other. Uh are really good.
34:52
So, that's Poland, Austria, Hungary, uh Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
34:58
All really good countries that are international studentfriendly and that
35:03
provide courses that are taught in English. Okay, thank you very much. Um, so yeah,
35:10
uh, deadline deadlines are passed, but usually most deadlines are passed right
35:16
now. There are not that many scholarships open for uh, bachelor students,
35:23
let alone in Europe. So, these are pretty much hang on, let me see.
35:29
Those are the ones the ones in Germany might be good for you. um because the
35:36
universities do not charge any tuition fee but at this point there are not that many full funding scholarships.
35:42
So for example, let's see again full funding and currently open we have about
35:47
five of those. Um memorial scholarship
35:54
Hong Kong we've talked about this quite a lot. So sanctuary award scholarships
35:59
are again given to people looking for uh displaced people let's say.
36:07
So I'm kind of uh we have less than a minute in the zoom
36:14
call with Aean. So I'm kind of uh like just stalling a little bit here.
36:22
Is there any fully funded MBBS scholarship? You can look into our you can look at our search tool. I think
36:28
it'll help you. Uh you can choose a subject. Let me talk about the subject while uh we try to
36:35
figure out the next Zoom meeting with Aean. So uh here's how subject works.
36:45
Basically, when you choose a subject in a in a in our filter section, uh what it
36:50
does is it shows you it shows you first the scholarships that
36:55
specifically mentions that program like business, whatever it is. Uh right,
37:02
and when it's done, when like it's out of those, we have a lot of scholarships specifically for business by the way. I
37:08
didn't realize we have that many. Uh okay. Wow.
37:16
All right. Does it ever end?
37:22
We have like eight 80 what 100 scholarships just for business. Let me
37:27
see. Uh anyway, at some point it goes back to
37:34
just uh all subjects, right? All subjects in this context means all
37:39
subjects that are offered in that uh university. So for example, this is
37:45
University of Texas at Austin.
37:51
Wait, hang on. What? Okay, I'm trying to join Aemon.
38:00
Uh he he has sent me a Zoom link that is not for a Zoom call.
38:09
Okay, that's
38:15
That is interesting. Let me let me let me try the other
38:23
um Okay. I think he is sending me the proper
38:29
zoom. Yeah. Okay. Hang on. Okay.
38:37
Sorry for that slight intermission.
38:47
Yeah. Um, so I didn't miss any questions, did
38:54
I? Can I say in Germany without German?
39:00
Yeah, I don't think I did. Uh, hi Evan, can you hear me? Um, yeah, I can hear you. Okay. I think OBS is also like live
39:08
streaming is also picking up your sound. Let me try to check.
39:17
Yep. Okay, great. Um, what were we saying? Yeah. So, uh,
39:23
subjects work like that. Basically if you if you see for example uh University
39:28
of Texas at Austin uh and this is for all subjects you have to go and see what programs the
39:35
university offers and then uh I have two USF1
39:40
visa rejection what you think should I re
39:47
you you made me forgot uh how it's pronounced reapply reapply
39:52
yeah uh I don't really know much about the visa rejections. What do you think?
40:04
Um, so the F the F1 visa.
40:12
Um,
40:21
is that not is it not the proper visa to apply for? No, no, no. It is. It is. I'm
40:28
I'm just thinking why you would be rejected for the F1. Um like did they give you a
40:39
sorry go ahead a reason like after the interview were you given a reason that you don't have enough funds or
40:46
like usually uh you are given a reason? Yeah. Yeah. it is this visa
40:54
but I'm just trying because usually you get um this kind of projection for tourism
41:02
visas but for the F1 provided that you have enough funds and you have
41:09
uh like you have been accepted by a university there is no reason for them
41:15
to reject your visa and if you still don't have the funds or
41:22
uh an an offer letter from a university, there
41:27
is no reason to apply again because those are the conditions to get the visa. So I'm I'm trying to understand
41:34
why you were rejected. Did you have like an offer letter or reaccepted by
41:40
university when you applied for that scholarship for that uh visa, honey?
41:54
Okay, we are waiting for the answer.
42:00
If you could give us more details.
42:06
I don't think I have anything else to talk about. Uh I will talk about the scholarship of the week that
42:14
but I want to wait a little bit more. I don't want to interrupt honey.
42:22
Meanwhile, we can so we also do have this uh currently
42:29
open scholarship section. Uh you can just click here and see all the scholarship that are currently open
42:36
and of course filter by degree type and country. I think this is a bit too down.
42:44
Uh okay. I was applying for a language school. I think I need to apply for uni with a scholarship.
42:51
Hm. Amen. What do you think?
43:01
Um, yeah, you you won't get any F1 visa for a language school. Uh, most
43:08
countries now don't accept visas for uh language schools because they would tell
43:14
you that you have language schools in your country. So why would you want to come to the United States or to the UK
43:20
to study the language? So it doesn't make any uh sense to them and you you
43:28
probably like they would ask you if you have even tried to go to a language school in your country before applying.
43:35
Um yeah, so this used to work like before CO I guess like the the countries
43:41
used to accept uh uh language school visas but since co to this day it's just
43:48
uh it's not an option anymore. I don't think anyone should bother to apply for
43:54
uh language schools. Um yeah, so you do definitely need to
44:00
apply for a university, get a scholarship and once you have an offer letter and if the scholarship can uh
44:09
cover all your expenses, you will definitely get the visa. I guess it's not even it won't be an issue at all
44:16
because you fulfill all the criteria to get the visa.
44:22
Um okay, thank you Ammon. So between full funding and all funding. I can
44:27
understand how that might be confusing. All funding is not really a category. It
44:34
means any like it like all funding types. It means like partial funding,
44:40
full tuition, full funding or all funding types like it's it's like
44:45
Australia, Austria, Belgium or all locations or all degrees all funding.
44:51
All right. That it's not it's not really a funding type. It means like you can give me any type of funding. Uh no, they
45:00
give but not like uni because in English school everyone can apply for Yeah, I guess. And also like they're kind of
45:07
looking for um reasons to turn people down, you know. Okay. So, if you have
45:15
any questions guys, uh feel free to ask them. But uh for a couple of minutes we'll talk about the scholarship of the
45:22
day which is so today people asked about
45:30
um hang on this is the university
45:35
the link for the scholarship which is this okay so this is a full funding scholarship in United States you don't
45:42
have uh a lot of those open right now uh this is one of them a need-based
45:47
financial aid at Grenell College. I made a poll uh and you guys chose this over
45:54
another one in South Korea. Basically, this is for bachelors in Grenell College. It's what is it? Tiny school.
46:01
Uh but it's an old university uh full funding. There are no specific nationalities or subjects. You have to
46:09
apply for this uh separately. We've talked about uh need-based financial aid
46:15
in United States before uh but it's been quite a while because uh the none of them have been open for application for
46:22
quite some time right now. So basically a financial aid means that that when you
46:27
apply to a university, an American university, a lot of them have these.
46:32
You say to them, I need financial aid to be able to study in this university. And what the university does is okay. Uh so
46:40
give give us information about your family's financial situation so we can
46:46
understand how much financial assistance you need. So what you do is you apply to the university you let them know you
46:53
need financial aid and if you get accepted like uh if you get accepted to
46:59
to the university they can cover your one cover 100% of your uh demonstrated
47:04
needs. What demonstrated needs mean is you create something called a CSS
47:11
profile. Basically CSS is a platform that uh you can use to apply for a lot
47:17
of financial aid in United States. You go, you create a profile, you give them your family's like tax uh information,
47:26
income information and etc. And universities use that to basically
47:32
estimate how much financial assistance can your family give you. So the
47:38
university says, "Okay, you you're going to need about $60,000 to be able to study in this university and from the
47:45
information you g gave us from your CSS profile, I think I estimate your family
47:50
can cover about 30,000 of these. So you need 30,000 financial assistance every
47:57
year. And if you get accepted to that university, they cover that. That's what demonstrated needs mean. So some
48:04
universities so you let them know uh this when you apply to the university.
48:10
Uh some universities are need blind some of them are need aware. Basically that
48:15
means if the university is need blind when you apply to the university when they are trying to decide whether
48:23
to let you in or not. They do not care about your they do not care about care
48:29
whether you need financial aid. So if they're going to let you in, they're going to let you in regardless of you
48:35
need financial aid or not. Okay? So like if you let them know that you need financial aid, that will not uh harm
48:43
your chances of getting in if the university is need blind. But if need aware, uh that might happen. So basic
48:50
basically just an international bachelor student or applicant. I think I've explained that terribly by the way
48:57
because I'm a bit rusty. We haven't talked about these uh for a long while. So if if there's anything that you
49:03
didn't understand about financial aid, just feel free to ask. So you can get more information uh here about
49:09
prospective students, uh application deadlines. Um
49:15
so you can apply to this university through common app. Um
49:21
yeah, I think we've made a tutorial on common app and perhaps CSS. I'm not
49:27
sure. Uh, Aean, do you know whether this university is need or need blind?
49:40
I really am not quite sure. Um, don't we have
49:46
I think we we have a list of universities that are need aware or need blind somewhere. Oh, I do you think I
49:56
can find it very easily right now? Like guides.
50:02
How would I go there? Financial aid statistics I think. Oh yeah. Yeah. It's in
50:11
financial aid statistics. It's need aware is the first one. So if you go there financial aid
50:17
statistics you
50:24
all right there is so I'll just type in gray
50:29
it's the first one just the first one there it's neither way right I didn't say yeah it's neither way so basically
50:36
if you guys uh apply to this you were asking a lot of questions I'll be back in a second don't worry we'll answer
50:42
those questions yeah so if you apply to this university. Uh let's see about the university. By the way, it's a good
50:49
university, an old university. Uh we have some application results. Someone
50:54
from Turkey applied, rejected. Philippines, someone from Canada applied, rejected. Uh someone from
51:01
India, Asia, accepted. Uh ex extremely expensive, like very high tuition. And
51:08
financial aid covers tuition as well. So
51:13
hang on, let me see. Yeah, this is let's see the university where it is what it looks like. It's in Iowa. There are any
51:19
school based on LTS and where are you from? Uh so this is this is where the
51:25
university is in Iowa. Uh this is what it looks like. Again, it's a it's an old university.
51:32
So yeah, basically this covers pretty much everything if you get it. If you
51:38
are a really good student, you can apply and get everything covered. Uh but if
51:43
you're not a very good student, they will say, "Yeah, no, thank you very much." So yeah, that's pretty much it.
51:49
Ammon, do you want to add anything about this university or this scholarship basically?
51:56
Um I think you covered everything really. Um yeah so since it's uh a need aware
52:05
university uh your financial need would impact your
52:11
chances of being admitted as you mentioned uh that is something to always keep in
52:16
mind. So if there are other applicants who can afford to study at the university or applicants uh whose family
52:25
contribution is higher than yours, they would have the uh priority of getting
52:30
into the university. So there there are definitely students who get in through
52:36
financial aid but uh it's the chances are quite low compared to students who
52:43
can at least cover some of the tuition uh or some of the expenses. So that that
52:49
is what needware means if the university was need blind and there aren't many of
52:55
those for international students. I think it's just five universities in total. I don't know about the situation
53:02
uh right now if they are if if it is still the case because the federal
53:08
government is pulling funding from those big universities. Yeah. So I'm not sure
53:15
if they are still uh need blind but when they were or if they are uh those
53:23
universities the your chances of getting admitted are not impacted by your financial aid. So
53:30
the moment you are accepted uh at the university, you will get a
53:36
fully funded scholarship. So no questions asked. Uh you will be treated uh same as everyone. Your application
53:43
will uh be just judged on its merit, not
53:48
anything else. So they wouldn't care if you need financial aid or not.
53:54
Okay. Thank you very much. Um, so all right, we have a couple of questions. Um,
54:06
yeah, especially nowadays it become harder. They start to do social media checks. Yeah. Yeah. And as I said like
54:13
especially in United States, United States they are pretty much looking for reasons to turn you down. Uh, what is
54:20
all subject? Okay, I get it now. Honey says, "I got an partial a partial scholarship in uni on a POTM. I just
54:28
speak to an admission officer per email and she told there is partial scholarship but still expensive."
54:35
Um so yeah um that's yeah that's what I meant by you can get scholarships in
54:42
United States but like a partial scholarship like a partial scholarship
54:47
in Europe and partial scholarship in United States are completely different things uh because like for example the
54:55
one we talked about right Pedro excellence scholarship it gives you €8,000
55:00
um every year so it is completely different when you have to pay about
55:06
$1,000 every year for tuition and you have to pay about $60,000 every year for
55:12
uh tuition. So like it doesn't even make a dent that €8,000
55:19
if you have to pay about $60,000 every year which is why like partial funding
55:25
in United States is much much easier to come by but it won't like it will still
55:30
be extremely expensive and quite frankly unaffordable for a lot of people. Uh can
55:36
you tell us some scholarships which do not require strong academic background but any international student can get
55:42
those scholarships. Um so I'm not sure what exactly you are
55:50
talking about like the second part uh any international student can get those scholarships like it is open for any
55:56
international student and does not require very strong academic backgrounds. uh they would be probably uh some of the
56:06
more modest scholarships I would say like partial scholarships. There are a lot of scholarships uh that just go go
56:14
to waste because no one really applied to them because no one really knows about them. Uh so like I think there are
56:21
a lot of smaller scholarships perhaps you can go. Uh but I think Aean will have better insights on that. Aean, what
56:28
do you think? uh scholarships that do not require strong academic background but open for all generation students.
56:36
Um I don't think there's such a such thing as uh scholarships that don't
56:41
require strong academic backgrounds. That's the whole premise of a scholarship. They're rewarding you for
56:50
uh having potential to do more. So, and that potential is shown
56:57
uh through your academic background. Of course, that's not the only criterion to be selected for a scholarship, but it's
57:05
a big one. Um, you need to have maintained a certain GPA, a certain
57:12
strong academic performance. Uh, generally does not require to be
57:18
admitted to university if you're uh paying yourself. But for
57:23
scholarships, uh they are mostly merit-based.
57:29
Even when they're need-based, you need to meet the minimum requirement to get
57:35
into the university. So there is always this element of having a strong academic
57:40
background in order to get a scholarship. uh there is no reason for any university or country to give scholarships if you
57:49
don't have any academic merit or if you're uh grades don't reflect a strong
57:55
academic background. So uh that's how it works. You you need that. Uh well, as
58:03
for uh eyelet scholarships, yes, they do exist. Uh whether it's in the United
58:10
States or um South Korea, for example, there are many many scholarships that
58:16
are awarded based on your ISIS score or just your English uh proficiency exam
58:21
score. Um there are so many in South Korea and
58:27
there are a few in the United States. um not as many but
58:34
uh they do exist and they cover up to full tuition. So they're not fully funded but they're generally partially
58:42
funded or full tuition. So this is for example one of them uh
58:47
that this is this was the other scholarship that I had in mind uh that I asked in u the poll and you guys chose
58:55
um the full funding one United States. So uh Korea has uh language based uh
59:03
language proficiency based scholar scholarships uh quite a lot of those. So normally Korea has this test called
59:10
topic it is test of proficiency in Korean and a lot of universities have
59:15
scholarships that kind of depends like if you have a high uh level like level six or something like that you'll get
59:22
100% tuition fee reduction. Uh but also they have some uh ILT tests for example
59:29
this one in Korea aerospace university this is for bachelors
59:34
uh this is for open for application right now and this covers 100% of your
59:39
tuition fees uh if you have ILts 7 or uh 96. So yeah there are a lot of those I
59:47
mean obviously you'll find more of them uh in English speaking countries but yeah um
59:54
Korea has those as well. So, um, based Okay. Did I miss any? Aemon, where are
1:00:02
you from? Uh, Aean, would you like to share where you're from or we could just
1:00:07
skip that question? No, if it's personal. Okay. So, yeah, I don't think
1:00:14
uh can you tell me those small scholarships? Yeah, I think there are a lot of those
1:00:21
and I think there are a lot of uh un uh students
1:00:27
talking about like how really small scholarships add up because if you do your research, if you do a lot of
1:00:34
research, you'll find a lot of smaller scholarships that a lot of people do not know about and they really add up to
1:00:41
cover like almost all of your financial needs, especially if you're not studying
1:00:48
in a very expensive place. But yeah, if you're looking for a lot of like those smaller scholarships, I think doing your
1:00:55
own research is a kind of a mandatory. You can use our search tool. We'll we
1:01:00
have a lot of partial scholarships. Uh again, partial funding scholarships if
1:01:06
coupled with no tuition or very low tuition universities can uh cover like I
1:01:13
don't know 80% 90% of uh of your financial needs. You can look for countries like uh France, Germany,
1:01:22
Italy. Um I think Spain also has uh low
1:01:28
tuition fees. Um China, China and Taiwan, they're very very uh affordable
1:01:35
compared to uh United States and they have a lot of t a lot of uh full funding
1:01:42
scholarships as well. So,
1:01:47
not Ireland, Ireland and United Kingdom, Austria as well. Hang on, let me see.
1:01:53
I think not. Yeah, for example, you can find some tuition fee waver. Um, thank
1:01:58
you for answering my question. You're welcome. We're here every Friday. You can come and ask any questions that you
1:02:04
might have. Uh, this is Pedro University, by the way. This is literally the university inside of the
1:02:11
university. Anyway, uh, okay guys, thank you very much for joining in today. If
1:02:16
you're watching this on VOD live stream, thank you very much for watching. We're going to end the live stream here and I
1:02:23
want to thank Aean as always uh for joining in.

Um, yeah, thank you for having me as all right everyone. I can't find some small scholarship or what
1:02:38
for Australia. Uh smaller scholarships for Australia
1:02:43
will probably not work all that great because Australia has very high tuition fees. Uh so like there are a lot of
1:02:51
partial funding like you can just type in Australia. There are many many partial funding
1:02:57
scholarships that you'll find. Okay, not that many perhaps. uh you quite a lot uh
1:03:03
partial funding scholarships but uh for example let's say let's look at ME
1:03:09
University right it's a good university popular university it has a tition fee of about 35,000 Australian dollars so uh
1:03:18
smaller scholarships will not really take care of that for you unless you get a lot of them okay guys uh by will be
1:03:25
here next Friday I usually try to do polls to uh make sure that I'm bringing
1:03:31
in something that you are interested in like the financial aid scholarship today. So if you can just like go there
1:03:36
and vote uh it would be better for all of us. And thank you. Bye. See you next
1:03:42
week.
