Hi everyone, it's Global Scholarships and we are here with another weekly live stream on Friday
1:13
I hope you're doing well, I hope everything's going great and I'm doing well
1:18
We have a little warm weather after a little, a bit of a quick transition to winter, so it's going well
1:26
And as always, I'm here joined by Yan Li, the founder of Global Scholarships
1:32
Han, are you okay? How are things? Yeah, so I think Korea is getting really chilly
1:41
Right now I think it's going to the negatives. So it's a bit chilly
1:47
And so, yeah, I'm just having some long padding on. Other than that, everything's going well
1:54
So I'm recovering from a cold, but yeah, everything's going well. How about yourself? Everything's going all right with you
2:00
Yeah, yeah, everything's. Everything's okay. I had a little bit of an extreme practice last night
2:08
I'm still trying to recover a little bit. Other than that, it's all good
2:13
And by the way, for everyone, we are here today. And next week, we will be on Twitch too, probably
2:23
But Jan won't be joining us, right, Jan, for a couple of weeks
2:28
Yeah, so I won't be joining for, I think, eight weeks. So, but I'll try to join after the eight weeks. Right
2:42
For next eight weeks, another team member will be joining me and they will be answering your questions in chat
2:50
So make sure to tune in. We'll still do like scholarships, different like, like
2:58
examining different scholarships and more informative stuff and we'll also be answering your questions so there is nothing changing about that and yeah don't
3:10
forget to tune in next week too so let's should we just start seeing more
3:17
scholarships yeah do you think yes please go ahead okay great let's start with
3:28
few undergraduate scholars entrance scholarship at Simon Fraser University. This is for a
3:33
bachelor's degree at Simon Fraser University. It covers 148,000 Canadian dollars. There are
3:43
no specific nationalities or specific subjects for the scholarship. There is a separate
3:49
application. Now as you can see there are two different ways of getting this. Actually it's
3:55
not entirely so we have one like a scholars entrance scholarship that covers
4:02
your like entire this is a bit of a like a as a like disclaimer you do not get the this amount of
4:11
money handed to you just uh this for example a hundred and forty thousand dollars is the tuition
4:19
and mandatory supplementary fees that is covered by the scholarship and then for
4:25
an allowance you also get at 8,000 dollars for like per term every term for international undergraduate scholars
4:35
now like okay let's see there are the criteria of course it should be either an incoming international
4:45
students enrolling in the fall term will like see these in more detail in a moment like let's go and see a
4:55
little more about the school. It's in Canada, Simon Fraser University. As you can see
5:00
there are quite a number of scholarships, by the way. You can go to go to the web, like the web
5:06
page of this university and see all the different scholarships that you might be eligible for
5:13
So I highly recommend you to go and see those. As you can see, like every bachelor's tuition
5:20
fee is 34,000 Canadian dollars, which is like a 23,000 US dollars
5:28
And here, from here, domestic and international students admissions page, you can go and get more information on the admission process of the university
5:40
Like undergraduate studies, graduate studies and additional information and stuff. And if you go back and get more information on the scholarship, uh, sorry, hang on
5:55
Wrong click. As you can see this United, like a USES program scholarship
6:04
Now there are two different ways for like domestic applicants and international applicants
6:09
If you click on this, like there are two different scholarships, like two different names
6:16
international undergraduate scholars entrance scholarship which only covers the like the tuition fee, like eight payments
6:25
This is, I believe, Canadian dollars because like every term you get $17,000
6:38
So this is the tuition fee, basically. And then you get international undergraduate scholars' entrance scholarship and scholars living allowance, which also gives you like $8,000 Canadian dollars
6:52
And here we can click on more about UCUS. Yes. And we have like minimum requirements to be considered like applying SFE for the
7:04
full term admission requirements like grades in the 90% range and stuff
7:11
And like application process, how do you go through the application, how to prepare
7:16
scholarship values for it? You can see for domestic applicants it's quite different
7:21
like different values, different numbers. International applicants, this is the one we just saw
7:29
And we have different scholarship perks and the application timeline. Also you can see this like timeline in a more understandable
7:40
like easy to see way. So yeah, this is the first scholarship that we are looking today
7:47
This is for bachelor's students who wants to study at in, Canada. So this not only covers your entire tuition fees and all the like
7:56
supplementary fees and stuff. Also if you get the living allowance, you get
8:04
every term and which is like I know like every month I believe it is something like that So yeah it looks quite good
8:19
And Jan, do you have anything you want to add about this particular scholarship
8:27
Yeah, it looks really good scholarship for international students. In Canada, there's not that many universities that gives full tuition or even
8:38
full tuition plus living expenses, but this looks like a really good scholarship that does give
8:44
full tuition and living expenses as well. Some other scholarships that you want to take a look at
8:51
if you want to study in Canada and have a significant scholarships is Lester B. Pearson Scholarship
9:02
at University of Toronto and also UBC Scholarships. So University of British College
9:08
Colombia also has some really good scholarships for undergraduate students. So if you want to study in Canada with fully funded scholarship or full tuition scholarships
9:21
those are three universities that you can take a look at. Right
9:28
Yeah, overall, Simon Fraser University scholarships, that looks like a really good scholarship for international students
9:35
Yeah, I believe we just made a short video about Lester B. Pearson Scholarship at Toronto University and what it covers and where we can get more information
9:47
So if you're interested in that, you can also check that out. Yeah, we are like, we're going to bring more scholarships as we go on
9:57
So should we move on to the next one, do you think
10:02
We do not have any questions yet. Okay. Yep, let's move to next scholarship. For those watching, if you have any questions about anything
10:12
just let us know. I'll be happy to answer. Okay, great. Our next scholarship is the President's
10:20
International Scholarship of Excellence at York University. This is, again, for bachelor's programs
10:27
Now, it's in York University and it covers $180,000 Canadian dollars and there are no specific
10:34
nationalities or subjects for the scholarship I will get what it covers like it
10:39
covers like 45,000 dollars this is Canadian dollars for four years every
10:46
year and this is for to get this you have to have like an a average or higher
10:53
and you have a history of community service and individual achievements in art or
10:58
sports so now if we we go here's the thing this 45
11:04
thousand dollars Canadian dollars this doesn't cover tuition fee so you need to pay I
11:12
believe the tuition fee from this forty five thousand dollars which is why it's
11:17
important to go and see the university and it's as you can see tuition fee is
11:24
21,000 Canadian dollars so it means for every year you get like and 24,000
11:32
thousand dollars like it's like two thousand dollars a month of like living allowance it's
11:38
basically as you can see there are ten scholarships in the school York University
11:45
and yeah you can get more information about different scholarships from this page
11:51
and you can now go and look at the scholarship page as you can see you need to have a letter
12:01
of recommendation for this scholarship and then you need to submit the scholarship application by the required deadline
12:08
Now if we go to the scholarship page, hang on, I didn't see this one when I was looking at the last time
12:20
Anyway, as you can see, there are quite a lot of scholarships here
12:27
This is where, hang on, where is it? Yeah, international scholarships and awards require an application
12:37
This is one of these ones. You can apply. And awards are, as we can see, this presidential international scholarship of excellence
12:44
is the one we are looking at right now. As you can see, there are 20 of these scholarships that are awarded per year
12:53
And every year we get $45,000. It's renewable. for like four three years additional three years and as you can see if you click on this link
13:08
you get well more information but it's not really all that much in depth information
13:16
other than the ones that we already saw in here the process the description what
13:24
do you need to have like what kind of qualification they are looking for, eligibility, like choosing the recipients
13:35
Jan, do you have anything you want to add for the scholarship
13:41
Sure, so I think that our label, partial funding, should be changed to full funding
13:47
because it covers full tuition and living expenses. I didn't, I wasn't actually aware of this scholarship before, before you've mentioned it
13:57
So I guess that this is another excellent scholarship for undergraduate student
14:03
I knew of Lassarby Pearson and UBC scholarships, but this one is a new scholarship for me
14:13
I guess that you learn something new every day. Right. to that
14:21
If you are interested in, if you're interested in searching for scholarships
14:28
we have a scholarship database on our website, global scholarships.com scholarship search
14:34
So if you are interested in filtering out different scholarships based on your criteria
14:42
please take a look at our site. We have, I think, over, you know, 4,000-something, something
14:48
on our database so you can you can just filter out the scholarships that you want
14:56
All right. Other than that for people who are watching, if you have any questions about any scholarships or in general like studying abroad or anything about that topic
15:15
you can ask and we will be answering them. answering them as best as our as we can um so yeah should we go on to our next scholarship do you
15:26
think oh yes please go ahead yep okay um the next one is master's utrecht
15:34
utrecht excellent scholarship at uteragh university this is clearly for a master's degree
15:41
programs it's there are no specific nationalities there are no specific subjects
15:47
for the scholarship. Now it covers a tuition fee waiver for one year, like one year of
15:55
masters and a cash award for one year linked to a residence permit for study. I'll get back
16:00
to that in a minute. But first let's go and see the criteria. You must be in the top
16:06
10% of your graduating batch, not receiving support from the Dutch Study Grant and
16:12
loan system and have applied for a master program with a start date of
16:17
September the 1st Now if we go to the direct university as you can see it in Netherlands there are four scholarships in total and like
16:32
average master's tuition fee is 19 000 euros which is like 11 I'm sorry which is like
16:38
I'm gone it's like 22 US dollar 22 thousand yes dollars I believe and if you can if you
16:50
go here click on this link You can see more about how to apply for a master's program, choosing a master's program
16:58
application and admission and arriving and living. And we go back to the scholarship page
17:06
You can see the eligibility criteria here, which is pretty much the same as we just mentioned
17:12
And I'm sorry, you get the tuition fee or tuition fee plus the income required for a period of one year
17:21
link to reason so I believe it's like there is an estimated living cost for a year
17:29
and which is determined by IND and then you get paid that but that also can be
17:37
renewed for a second year of two master's two year master's programs we have the
17:43
selection criteria which is like academic quality and academic excellence is quite important the quality of applications for the master's program it's
17:51
itself is quite important. And we have the application process here and the funding
17:59
where it comes from. So yeah, this covers your entire tuition fee. I'm sorry, for one
18:07
year tuition fee and like cash award for like living expenses for one year. But
18:14
it's also renewable. I think that's quite important too. And when like the process is
18:21
quite simple as I can see you just scholarship like you go to the portal and like
18:29
complete the application and that's pretty much it yeah do you have anything you want to
18:34
add well not really it looks like a really good scholarship in Europe okay we have a
18:45
question by the way on Facebook good morning sir I'm a pharmacist and I'm
18:51
planning to do master's how can i apply it please tell me the procedure okay um so well um
19:04
that is very general question um you know like master's um can be you know master's application
19:12
can be different in different countries you know it is different in korea it is different in
19:18
United States it is different and you know Finland yeah so I think that you if you are if
19:28
you have like some countries in mind then I think I'll be better suited to answer
19:35
right as you can see our website has guides for like studying in Canada in Norway or like any
19:43
different country you are interested in if you you all you all
19:48
have a lot of application tutorials for different like different schools but we
19:57
can also make some for masters and like what's different for application
20:02
procedure of master's degrees and we also have here like courses and
20:08
master's courses like articles here you might you want to look at those so
20:17
yeah if you have any more specific requirements like specific details that you can add to the question
20:26
we can help you better with that one meanwhile Jan do you think we should go
20:34
to our next scholarship oh yes please course and next one is a graduate
20:43
research scholarship let's see It's at University of Melbourne for both masters and PhD students
20:54
There are no specific nationalities, no specific subject. As you can see, there are 600 people who can get this scholarship
21:05
It covers the tuition fees. It gives you $37,000 per year as living allowance and up to $3,000 as relocation allowance
21:16
if you are moving from outside Australia and it covers health insurance I'll get back to that in a minute
21:24
But first let's go and look at the University of Melbourne as you can see
21:29
It's in Australia. It's quite a big school there are different like five different scholarships in the school
21:38
And the average like master's tuition fee is 44,000 Australian dollars and like this
21:46
This covers the tuition fee completely, but it also pretty much gives you nearly the same amount as tuition fee as living allowance
22:01
And hang on. Yeah. Here we can see the Masters Admissions page, how to apply for Masters
22:10
As you can see, we can click here to see Graduate Coursework Study
22:16
and scholarships like English language requirements this is a like very frequently
22:24
asked subject credit research and PhDs you can get more information here applications
22:31
entry requirements fees and payments so if we go back to the scholarship page you
22:41
can see like this is a quite like very, I believe, very well made page, like application type, the benefit type, total value
22:54
Like, it adds up to $135,000. Like, there are no specific study areas that you have to be studying
23:04
And you can't be an international student. Other than that, we have, like, eligibility and
23:08
selection criteria. You clearly, like, need to meet the requirements for a graduate
23:16
research degree and you have two of course like be enrolled in the in a graduate
23:24
research degree University of Melbourne and there are like specific selection criteria and conditions so you can get more information on application process
23:35
and the benefits are as you can see here like the full fee offset for two years for
23:42
masters and up to four years for PhD and you get like this is full-time study rate for twenty four you get thirty seven thousand dollars
23:52
per year and you get a relocation grant also like the health insurance is overseas student health
24:02
cover single membership i'm not sure if there are like very comprehensive guides like tutorials
24:10
on that how like what that covers what are things you need to be careful about maybe we can do
24:16
a like a standalone video on that like maybe tutorial or that sort of explanatory video
24:25
that might be quite informative in my opinion. Yeah this is the Graduate
24:31
Research Scholarship at University of Melbourne It basically for like masters and PhD researchers if you want to study at Australia like it really gives you most of the like financial aid you can need
24:48
And I believe this is like this living allowance is probably, if I'm not mistaken, over the, like the minimum wage
24:59
Like, you can easily live off on that. I believe. Yeah. So it looks quite good
25:07
Jan, do you have anything you want to add about this scholarship? Yeah, so it is the same thing
25:15
I think that we had a scholarship for an Australian university less life
25:22
And it is the same concept for this scholarship research training program
25:27
So yeah, I mean 600 people, that's a lot of people. So if you are a master's or PhD that is willing to
25:39
that once you study in Australia, I think it is a really good scholarship, really good university
25:45
Yeah, I think it's quite nice that it covers, it also covers your relocation
25:52
Like if you want to go and study in Canada, I'm sorry, Australia
25:57
and like you can afford the application fee, but like the cost of
26:03
just moving there and starting like setting up is just too much for you it's really i i believe
26:09
it's quite good uh that it covers that one too so other than that we do not have any more questions
26:21
i think we failed to get more detailed information about that question um so i believe we should
26:30
move on to our next and final scholarship of the week, right
26:38
Yes, please go on. Okay, let's go. This is the registration and tuition fee exemption at Kyoto Institute of Technology
26:49
This is for bachelor's, masters and PhD students. There are no specific nationalities and or
26:56
subjects. As you can see, it's it covers half of full registration fee waiver and have for full tuition fee waiver it's in Kyoto Institute
27:09
of Technology you can get more information about the school from here hang on as you
27:16
can see this is the just like there's just one scholarship in the school and it's not a
27:22
very like large school and it covers the like whether your bachelor's
27:30
like the also tuition fee is pretty much the same it covers that entirely and we can
27:37
just go bachelor or let's go bachelor's admissions page I don't think it would be
27:44
very different there is more information information on that on here on how to
27:51
apply and like the deadlines timeline here and like general examination and
28:00
and you can get more information on that and if you're interested like let us know
28:04
we are planning to do more tuition videos on how to apply to the schools in asia
28:11
specifically and non-yang institute i'm sorry nanyang technological university is coming up next week next wednesday so if you're interested in that
28:24
if you're interested in sitting in singapore i really recommend you to go and check that out
28:30
it comes out and as you can see we can get more information about the scholarship but it's
28:37
quite like quite straightforward you like for application it just like it basically covers
28:48
your tuition fee and that's like that's pretty much it there are no like nothing to go into
29:00
about this scholarship. Hian, maybe you can give us more insights like two different specific things
29:09
that I may have missed about this scholarship? I think you've covered everything
29:16
I just wanted to say that to universities in Japan, they're known for their sciences
29:25
And since it's an institute of technology, I'm sure that it has really
29:29
really good basic science programs, good research. And for the, so I don't know about this institution
29:41
but I think that it is an equivalent of MIT or Caltech in Japan
29:48
So Japanese equivalent of MIT or Caltech. So if you are interested, you can apply to study and go to Institute of Technique
29:59
and it's probably much easier omissions process for foreigners. Right. So yeah, that's what we have for you today as our scholarships
30:19
Like if you're interested, we are doing this every week on Friday
30:26
We go like we also have weekly videos if you are watching us from Facebook on our YouTube channel that covers
30:35
Currently open scholarships every week They are up on Monday Like to inform you about the scholarship opportunities that are open right now that are like that you can apply right now
30:48
And we also do live streams to see different scholarships to more that we also also a a
30:55
we also have tutorial videos on how to apply to schools. If you're interested in any of that, check our YouTube channel
31:05
You will probably find something that is useful to you. And we do not have any other questions at this point
31:18
And do you think this is a good time to end here
31:23
Yeah, I just wanted to say, yeah, I just wanted to say if you, we're ending the live stream now
31:32
but if you have any questions, feel free to ask it on forums
31:36
So I put a link on our chat and chat on YouTube and comments on Facebook
31:43
So if you have any questions after the live streams, if you can make a new topic and ask a good question there
31:51
we'll love to answer them. right um you can also ask any questions that you might have on our youtube videos uh we do our best
32:01
to answer those too uh so there are a lot of different uh venues to reach us if you have any
32:08
questions about any topic about uh just studying abroad or general scholarships so if you think any
32:17
if you have anything you want to ask um just feel free and we'll see you on
