So, uh, usually when people ask about
0:03
Turkey, I say negative things because
0:06
I'm from Turkey. It's my own country.
0:08
And I think you do have a bias against
0:10
your own country because you usually see
0:12
the negative things. And Turkey has been
0:15
going through a lot right now. And in
0:17
terms of economics, it is really it has
0:20
become more and more difficult to
0:22
recommend people to come to Turkey
0:24
because it is getting more and more
0:25
expensive. Uh but today I was looking uh
0:28
at this scholarship and I thought well
0:30
coach university is a really good
0:32
university uh in Turkey. It's in
0:33
Istanbul. Uh it has high tuition fees
0:36
but this scholarship covers up to 100%
0:38
of tuition fee. And when the tuition fee
0:41
is covered
0:43
for example is not as expensive to live
0:45
in as uh I don't know a any country in
0:48
Europe or any state in the United
0:50
States. So I think this is a very
0:53
accessible to university for a lot of
0:54
people and yeah studying in Turkey has
0:56
its own issues. Well in terms of foreign
1:00
students the countries are kind of like
1:02
racing each other to be more
1:04
problematic. Uh for example it would be
1:06
more difficult uh to say you can come to
1:09
study in Turkey compared to United
1:11
States. It's not like that anymore. USA
1:14
has become even more problematic. So
1:16
yeah this is undergraduate international
1:18
merit scholarships at coach university
1:19
in Turkey. This is for bachelors. Uh you
1:22
can apply for all subjects, all
1:24
nationalities. It's in Istanbul. So for
1:26
this you have to have an application
1:28
featuring your SAT, IB, A level score or
1:32
equivalent. It doesn't give you a
1:34
threshold that like you have to have at
1:36
least this. It just like apparently they
1:39
use that to evaluate you. Uh
1:41
unfortunately you can use this for
1:43
school of medicine but other programs
1:45
are fine. Tuition fees. This is about
1:48
$10,000
1:49
right now, but again, this scholarship
1:51
covers the tuition fee. So, you would
1:53
have to spend like maybe $600 or
1:56
something like that to live in Istanbul
1:58
if you're interested in studying in
1:59
Turkey. Some people are asking about
2:01
that and I'm usually very very negative,
2:04
which is not really fair if I'm being
2:06
honest. It is more affordable to live in
2:08
Istanbul than to live in Hong Kong for
2:12
example. Also, I think a full tuition
2:13
scholarship might make it more
2:15
accessible for a lot of people than a
2:17
full tuition scholarship in Hong Kong.
2:19
So, I also wanted to give at least some
2:22
information um about this opportunity.
2:24
Aean, uh do you want to say anything
2:26
about this or maybe like studying in
2:28
Turkey in general? Yeah, I really don't
2:31
know much about studying in Turkey and I
2:33
think you would know way more than I do
2:35
about that. But Coach University seems
2:38
to be a great university that that
2:40
promotes in international uh education.
2:43
All universities that provide
2:44
scholarships to international students
2:46
are always something good to consider.
2:49
Probably K University wouldn't be as
2:52
competitive as some of the universities
2:55
in other countries, but I would still
2:56
assume that it's very competitive. The
2:58
Turkish government scholarship is also
3:01
an amazing scholarship and I think that
3:03
there are many placements at coach
3:05
university. Turkey remains one of uh the
3:09
countries that still promote
3:11
international uh education despite what
3:14
you mentioned every week about the
3:16
inflation and how the numbers don't
3:18
really represent the the reality of
3:20
things and there is a lot of
3:22
fluctuation. Sometimes you find numbers
3:24
that change every uh so often. So that's
3:27
also something to always keep in mind
3:29
the economic state of certain countries
3:32
when you see numbers of or about the
3:35
cost of living. So take that with a
3:37
grain of salt because they might change
3:39
a little bit they might go up. So you
3:41
need uh to have a fail safe all the
3:43
time. So you need to prepare enough or
3:46
sufficient funds to accommodate those
3:48
changes.
