Rising star Brazilian violinist Nathan Amaral performs Ralph Vaughan Williams' peerless 'The Lark Ascending' accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra under conductor Ben Palmer. Filmed at the Royal Albert Hall for Sky Arts as part of Classic FM Live with Viking, the piece evokes a reverent, pastoral scene, re-arranged for solo violin and orchestra after the composer's experiences in the First World War, in which he served as a stretcher bearer.
