Is Pakistan really one nation or an artificial state made up of several very different peoples? Pakistan’s name itself is an acronym for Punjab, Afghania (Pashtun lands), Kashmir, Sindh, and Balochistan. In this video, we explore whether those regions were ever meant to exist as a single country, how British colonial borders shaped modern Pakistan, and why ethnic identity still matters today. In this video I explain the local realities of Punjabis, Pashtuns, Sindhis, and Baloch, compare their past, and ask a difficult question: could they ever break away from Pakistan in the way Bangladesh did?
