In this video I compare the two countries of Czechia / the Czech Republic and Slovakia among various factors. Czechoslovakia existed from 1918 to 1992, when Czechia and Slovakia decided to split. In 2023, they differ in size, with Czechia being larger, having more extensive railways, and a bigger population. The languages, Czech and Slovak, are similar, and their flags share colors. In terms of government, both are Parliamentary Republics, and they share good diplomatic relations. Czechia has more immigrants, particularly Ukrainians. Slovakia, part of the Eurozone, has a smaller economy than Czechia, which uses the Czech Koruna. GDP per capita is higher in Czechia, but both have low Gini coefficients, indicating wealth equality. Human Development Index is slightly higher in Czechia. Both countries are safe but differ in perceived corruption levels. Overall, they've evolved differently since their separation, raising the question of whether they would have remained together or not. What are your thoughts on their separation?
