Vaultek VT10i Pistol Vault Unboxing & Set-Up

Hi! My name is Austin. I am from a man in his safe. I am the man and this is my safe

We're going to be working today with a really cool product that I was sent by Vault-Tec

This is the Vault-Tec VT-10i. I got it in the mail. It's a really cool safe. I've actually

already gotten to play around with it and really get to enjoy it and stuff. I just wanted

to give you guys an unboxing. This video is mainly an unboxing on how to set up the product

and just kind of get used to a little bit. I'm going to do another video later on that's

It's going to be a little bit more in-depth talking about the features, how they work, and all that kind of stuff

So we're going to go ahead and jump right in it and go ahead and unbox this thing and see what you guys think

All right. So first things first, let's go ahead and take a look at the packaging. So this is exactly what it came in looking like

So it's a plain brown box. It came in via USPS two-day error

Actually, sorry, just normal priority mail two-day. Probably not error. anyways um so first things first uh when you're buying a safe something you want is especially a

pistol vault like this because it comes in normal mail uh is you want the packaging to be nondescript

that is something i was a little bit worried about on this one because it did come in

with vault tech logos on both ends as well as the model number the bt10i right here on the front

that's it's a personal preference when you're buying a safe I like to be as

nondescript as possible so that that is something I'm not a huge fan of but it's

really personal preference it's up to you guys what you think about that and I

hope Valtek's does change that down the road but we will see anyways I'm really

excited about this let's go ahead and get it opened up and let's see what we have here all right first you want to grab your knife and you can open up the

top here. Alright so first impressions we get a white box. It is kind of nondescript so I'm going

to put this down there. Okay so this is the Vault-Tec DT-10i. It has a nice white box

it's minimalistic. Back of it's going to be your features. What it comes with is right here

I'll be showing that a little bit more in depth. Kind of talks about how the product works so

This is actually just a sleeve, so we're going to go ahead and pull that sleeve off

And now it's an even more minimalistic box. A nice white box with the Voltec across the front

Some of the warnings and stuff like that on the back here. And I actually really do like it

The box, when you open it up, has a cool little thread right here that keeps it open

It makes it so it doesn flop all the way back So it just a nice feature Generally when you have a nice box it means it probably going to be a pretty decent product because they put a lot of thought into it So they put thought into their box they put thought into their product Anyway

so first things first, look right in here. That's inserted into a cut foam is going to

be paperwork. Inside here is kind of a quick start guide right here and this is your instruction

manual. Pretty much everything you need is going to be right there in the quick start

guide, but I think it talks a little bit more about how to program with your phone, how the

app works, all that kind of stuff. That's something I'm not going to go too far into

and I'll let you guys play around with that, but it is very cool, very cool product. And then, so the next thing you see, other than the Vault-Tec, is another white box. They like

the white boxes. This is going to be your accessories. So this includes everything you

need to get it set up correctly, and we'll go through that here in a second. And then the third

And the last thing inside the cut foam is the actual Voltec itself

This thing immediately is very, very heavy. I'm super impressed by how heavy it is based off its size

It's a 16-gauge steel. There are thicker gauge steel safes out there for pistol boxes, but I think this is a great product for what it is

All right, so let's go ahead and we'll put this away because that's just your box

And let's go ahead and go through our accessories because you're going to jump into those before you can get into this

So, let's open it up. Alright. So, right inside you have, let's start here, this is your charger

This is what plugs into the wall. It's just like any other kind of charger out there when you buy a cell phone

It's just a USB 2.0. This is the cord that goes along with it

I've already opened this so the piece of plastic that wrapped around this is no longer there

there. You can use a lot of charges you have from your old cell phones. The newer cell phones

probably not because they have the Type-C. This is actually a 2.0. So that's actually a great

great thing there that's going to be charging. This thing does have a battery, so it can be on

its own, but they recommend or I recommend leaving it plugged in. That way you never have to worry

about your vault going dead. So here is the battery that I was talking about. There's a really cool

battery. When you pop it in you actually don't have to worry about which end you put in first because it actually reads the polarity on it so it actually

switches it around based off of where you do it so it actually does not matter which is nice. You have a Phillips screwdriver, a small one. The nice thing

about this is not many people have that so it's great to be able to have because this is how you unscrew the door for your battery on the inside of the vault Right here is a little box and this is going to be having your bolt kit There two holes in the bottom of the safe You can go ahead and bolt it into any

kind of wood, whether it be your floor, whether it be a desk, a pretty much anything, as long as

it's wood. This wouldn't work great for bolting into cement though. And then the last thing in

this box right here is going to be your keys. It is great that they have a key function on this

A lot of vaults don't. This is something I prefer. It's a little more secure version of a key than

you would see on like a house. So it is a great function because if the batteries ever did die

your RFID is not going to, your fingerprint scanner is not going to work. Your keypad is not going to

work. So this is going to be the only way into the safe. So you want to make sure that you do

have these. There are two, so you can give it to one other person, hide one, do whatever is needed

So there's not just one, which is nice. Okay, so actually that said, we're going to go ahead and

open this up and I'll show you how to put it together and get that battery in and get it set

up for you. So we're going to go ahead and start with the keys because that's the only way into

this right now because the battery is sitting right here. So what's right here is this is your

logo. It's really nice. It's actually a logo that pops open and inside is your

key port. It looks very nondescript. It actually looks very similar to the logo on

the face so it actually looks like it's supposed to be there and doesn't have something behind it but it's a great easy way to get in. So if somebody does

have a key then they also have to figure out where this port is and they do a

really good job of making it look nondescript and not look like a key port. So we're going to go ahead and open this up and so you want to put it in there, twist

it, it automatically pops open. I was super impressed by this. I've seen some vaults where they don't open right away or you manually have to open it

They did a really good job. This pops right open and you really don't have to worry about it getting stuck

I think they did a great job. Let's go ahead and remove those

Inside is your last accessory. This is the 4 foot cable. A lot of safes don't come with this

They have a feature for it and it's an added option. However, not many come with it so I'm really excited to see that they had this come with

it because you can actually put it into the port right here and you just slide it in

close the lid and it's secure. It's great for putting it in your car, great for putting it around like a bedpost or something

like that so if somebody does get into your home and try to steal your guns they also have to go

through that added thing because realistically speaking when you're buying a safe all you're

doing is buying time any vault can be broken into any vault can be stolen if there enough time so when you buying a safe it really just buying you time So I think this buys you a lot of time And it also great for putting it into your vehicle I think the size of this is perfect

for putting it underneath a seat and while also having easy access to it. So it's really, really

great. So inside there's two pieces of foam. It's a very dense foam and actually repairs liquid

repels liquid not repairs which is great though for for not getting your pistols wet

and causing mold and that stuff because it does repel that so inside we're going to go ahead and

put the battery in so i don't know if you can see it's kind of hard to see in the camera but right

underneath right here there's a little port that's where your battery is going to be going

So I'm going to go ahead and take that door off. There's a little screw in there

It's very, very little. They thought ahead, though. If you do lose this, there is another one inside of your bolt-down kit

On the inside there, there's a little small screw. So if you lose it, you have a backup

But don't lose that one. So we're going to go ahead and pop that open

There's our door. We're going to take the battery. we're gonna make sure this little tab here we're gonna pop it in you can hear I don't know if you

can hear that on the camera but it makes a little beeping sound and it lights up letting you know

that you did do it right which again is very easy because you can't do it wrong so we're gonna put

that door back on my keypad's lighting up there which is great and we're gonna screw this back in

Right here is your program button for the keypad. And it's a really simplistic design, it's great

So we're going to go ahead and put these back in. Make sure my keys are not stuck in there

I'm going to close this. So at this point the safe is actually already set up

You can open it, you can use it. Your standard keypad is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and it pops open

And it actually, I don't know if you can see that, it does shed some light on there

So if you need to get into it and grab your pistol or whatever valuables you're keeping

in here, you can see it. But anyways, I'm going to be doing another video

This one's already pretty long, so I want to do another video that talks a little bit

more about the features, about the steel, about all that kind of stuff
