I have had my Fellow Carter Wide Mug for years, and it is one of my favorite coffee mugs I have ever owned. However, due to one issue, I use other coffee mugs instead. Let's discuss all the great and not-so-great things about this mug. This is my favorite coffee mug that I don't use

So the car wide mug is a special coffee mug. It looks awesome and has a lot of amazing features

However, because it's not great in cars, I don't use it all that much

But we're going to talk about that a little bit later in the video. But first, I want to go ahead and talk about the things that I do like, I don't like

And then, of course, at the end, I'm going to be talking about who this is for and why it can be worth it for a lot of people, but just isn't quite something that I use a lot

So first up, let's go ahead and talk about the things that I do like about this coffee mug. And the first thing has to be this really well thought out lip

So right here is a curved lip up here on the top

And basically, you're able to lay your lip onto that and it's extremely comfortable to drink from

Normally, travel mugs like this are not a comfortable thing to drink from

They're rigid, they're cold, they're just not that great. However, this one is very different because of that curved lip

It's really, really comfortable to drink from. The next thing I like is actually a part of that and that comes down to how thin the lip is

You can actually see right here, this lip actually comes completely to a point

which means the fluid just kind of flows right into your mouth. So this lip design is honestly the best in the industry

I have not found another coffee mug that's any better than this and is a big reason why I do like this coffee mug so much

Next thing I like is the leak-proof seal. So this is a completely leak-proof coffee mug

It is something that you can throw into your bag, you can throw it around to the floorboards of your car

and you really don't have to worry about anything leaking out. It is really, really nice for that

So many other coffee mugs, including my main travel mug, which is the Yeti Rambler

those just don't have leak-proof designs. They're leak-resistant, splash-resistant, that kind of stuff, but not leak-proof

This is one of the best out there of those premium coffee mugs when it comes to a leak-proof design

The next thing that I like, and I like it, but I'm not one of those people that really struggles with it

is actually the interior of this coffee mug is a ceramic interior

So for those people that feel like they can taste that metallic taste when they're drinking out of a stainless steel construction mug, which this one is

they use a ceramic interior coating on the inside of here. So you're drinking from a ceramic mug instead of a stainless steel mug

which is a really great thing for a mug like this, and I think is a huge upside to this coffee mug

especially over a lot of the other competition. The next thing comes down to styling

I really like the style of this coffee mug. It looks really, really nice

I've taken this a lot of different places, and most people think it's some kind of electronic

it's some other thing other than a coffee mug, and they don't realize it's a coffee mug

I think it looks really nice. It kind of has that curved design. It's very well thought out, and I got to give people props that designed this

They did a great job, and I really like the color of this. And just in case you're wondering the color, this is actually the matte gray color

And then the final thing that I like about this coffee mug has to be about how long it keeps hot liquids hot and cold liquids cold

Because of that leak-proof design, you're not letting out any form of heat or any of the cold

and the only times you're letting any of that temperature out is when you take the lid off

That means that you can be keeping things hot for a really long time, almost to a fault, because things like hot coffee

that recently were extremely hot put in here, they literally will keep it for hours

so you'll come back to it three or four hours later, and you'll still not be able to drink it because it's too hot

So sometimes you actually have to leave the cap off to be able to get the temperature down just to be able to drink your coffee in a normal time

I've also done things like iced coffee in this, and it does a fantastic job of keeping the ice cold

and making it so that it doesn't water things down. So now let's get to the one reason why I don't use this coffee mug

and that comes down to this screw-off cap. You'll notice when I unscrew this, I have to use two different hands

one on the bottom, one on the top, to be able to unscrew this cap

So the issue with that is I usually use my travel mugs when I'm driving in the car

and because you have to use two different hands to be able to get it off, that means I have to take both hands off the steering wheel

which, for obvious reasons, is not something you want to do and is just not safe

So even though this has everything going for it, I find myself not using this coffee mug anymore

which is a big bummer because I really do like it. For those that say, just take the lid off and leave it off

this is a really wide-mouthed mug, and I do run into stop quickly or that kind of stuff

It's going to slosh coffee out. I will say that Fellow has fixed that. It isn't fixed in the wide mug

but they did actually come out with a separate coffee mug called the Carter Move mug

It still keeps that really wide mouth, but it's essentially they added a little bit of a little kind of insert that goes into the top of it

So it keeps it from sloshing around so you can leave the lid off at least, but then the downside to that is you are going to lose a lot more of the temperature

and your coffee is going to get cold sooner. So there are a little bit of trade-offs there. So they have thought through the fact that people don't like to use this while they're driving

and they came out with a separate lineup of coffee mugs. I haven't personally used it yet, so I can't review it

but that is the major downside to this coffee mug and why I don't use it all that much anymore

So then let's talk about who this coffee mug is for. It is for somebody I would say that is a commuter

somebody that takes like the subway, somebody that takes the train, public transport, or something like that to work

or they don't really drink their coffee on the way and they plan on just drinking at the office

These are amazing for that because they keep the temperature so incredibly well

So if that sounds like somebody that's like you, this is an amazing way to do it. But if you're somebody that likes to drink your coffee while you're driving

I probably would look at something like the Carter Move mug, which is the other version of this

or you could go with something like the Yeti Rambler like I do. As for pricing, this is around $30 depending on where you buy it from

and if there are any sales or anything like that. I really do think it's worth it for you
